A Longitudinal Study of the Effects of Service-Learning on Physical Education Teacher Education Students

Research examining Service-Learning (SL) in Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) is ample. However, long-term investigations are still scarce and literature demands the application of this type of design to uncover the effects of SL on the long run. This study followed a longitudinal quantitative approach; thus, the participants completed the Civic Attitudes and Skills Questionnaire (CASQ) in three occasions (pretest-postest1-postest2). Although a large number of theories justify the presence of games in school, all of them converge in two of the educational functions described by Biesta, socialization and qualification. In contrast to this instrumental educational approach, the present article aims to develop the bases for a philosophy of physical education (PE) oriented toward the game as an object. This proposal is supported by Suits¿ theory of games and the object-oriented philosophy (OOP) introduced by Harman. Purpose: This study examined whether high school students' degree of self-determined motivation in school physical education predicted their intentions to be physically active after graduation, and whether perceived physical competence and physical activity identity mediated this hypothesized cross-sectional relationship. The purpose of this cross-sectional investigation was to examine the item characteristics, factor structure, reliability, convergent validity, and nomological validity of the Psychobiosocial States in Physical Education (PBS-SPE) scale. In Study 1, a sample of 1,030 students (582 girls and 448 boys, 10 to 19-year-olds), drawn from middle or high schools, rated the intensity of the 20 items version of the PBS-SPE scale thinking about the feelings they had usually experienced in physical education classes. Kooperatīva mācīšanās kā līdzeklis 7-12 gadu vecu bērnu kapoeiras kustību iegaumēšanai

Šajā maģistra darbā autore pētīja, vai kooperatīvā mācīšanās uzlabo kapoeira horeogrāfiju atcerēšanos. Autore organizēja 9 video novērošanas sesijas 7-12 gadus veciem kapoeira audzēkņiem Capokids Capoeira Latvia organizētajās nodarbībās. Trīs bērnu grupas strādāja katrā no trim mācību organizācijas formām: indivīduāli, grupu darbs, un darbs pāros. Kopumā pētījumā piedalījās 53 bērni. Autore analizēja bērnu sasniegumus un pētīja uzvedību. Papildus uzmanība tika pievērsta bērniem ar augstu sasniegumu līmeni un bērniem ar dažādām vajadzībām.
