Alkaline titrations of poly(dG-dC).poly(dG-dC): microemulsion versus solution behaviour

PolyGC was titrated with a strong base in the presence of increasing concentrations of NaCl (from 0.00 to 0.60M) either in water solution or with the polynucleotide solubilized in the aqueous core of reverse micelles, i.e., the cationic quaternary water-in-oil microemulsion CTAB/n-hexane/n-pentanol/water. The results for matched samples in the two media were compared. CD and UV spectroscopies and, for the solution experiments, pH measurements were used to follow the course of deprotonation. [Respiratory muscle aids during an episode of aspiration in a patient with Duchenne muscular dystrophy].

We report the case of a Duchenne muscular dystrophy patient with good bulbar function but severely decreased forced vital capacity (9%) and spontaneous peak cough flow (PCF) (2.35 L/s). The patient needed continuous noninvasive ventilation (NIV) consisting of a volumetric ventilator with a nighttime nasal mask and a daytime mouthpiece. He also required application of manually assisted coughing techniques by insufflation with a resuscitation bag and chest thrust (manually assisted PCF after maximum insufflation capacity of 4.33 L/s). La adicción al cibersexo constituye una «nueva patología» cuya prevalencia ha aumentado con rapidez en los últimos años, por lo que se precisa de instrumentos de evaluación validados. En este trabajo presentamos la adaptación y validación para su administración en población española del Internet Sex Screening Test (ISST). El instrumento fue administrado a 1.239 estudiantes universitarios españoles. Los resultados muestran cinco componentes que explican el 47,5% de la varianza. La consistencia interna es de 0,88 y la estabilidad temporal de 0,84. Przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu jest bezpieczeństwo młodzieży gimnazjalnej w Internecie, w województwie opolskim. W kwietniu 2016 r. przeprowadzono anonimowe badanie nad poczuciem bezpieczeństwa w sieci uczniów wybranych szkół gimnazjalnych, w klasach od I do III. Na ankiety odpowiedziało 799 uczniów, w tym 393 kobiet i 406 mężczyzn. Z badań wynika, że wszyscy badani korzystają z Internetu, większość z nich codziennie. Poczucie bezpieczeństwa wśród badanych jest wysokie. Większość uczniów korzysta z Internetu zarówno dla rozrywki i aby przygotować się do zajęć w szkole. Intuitīvas domāšanas darbība tiek novērojama dažādos vecumposmos, bet nav skaidri noteikts, kurā vecumā un kādos apstākļos tā attīstās. Šīs process ir ļoti sarežģīts un neviennozīmīgs. In the last decades of the eighteenth century, the third act of opera seria was gradually reduced in importance and dimensions until it disappeared altogether. The article studies this process in relation to the repertoire of the San Carlo theatre in Naples from 1771 on, with special attention to the intertwining of dramaturgical choices and audience’s behavior. The examination of a large number of librettos and scores makes it possible to fix reliable chronological terms. After an isolated episode in 1780, the adfirmation of the two-act model can be traced back to the 1786-1787 season.
