On Jakob Liefer’s Literary Technique in the Neo‑Latin Epic Bellum SundenseThis paper examines Jakob Liefer’s (1571‑1655) method of composing a carmen novo modo, that is a combination of laus urbis, epic, and cento. It demonstrates how Liefer systematically employs allusions and citations to turn his account of the historic Margrave War (1308‑1317) into a praise of the city of Stralsund and its inhabitants. The analysis focuses on the work’s intertextual engagement with the characters and settings of Lucan’s Pharsalia and Vergil’s Aeneid. Any study of the Palatine Chapel in Palermo should take into account the two contexts of Spanish Caesaropapism in Sicily, namely a Church established by Habsburg rulers with the monarch at its head, and international relationships between the Spanish Monarchy, France, and the Holy See. This chapel, situated right at the heart of the Royal Palace – seat of both the Viceroy and the tribunals of the Kingdom – was actually a sort of miniature cathedral for the Spanish king-pope (as ecclesiastical patron and papal legate), and the fact that it was dedicated to Saint Peter clearly evoked the papal Basilica of the same name in Rome. Filial piety is a Confucian concept that guides how children treat and take care of their parents. The Filial Behaviour Scale (FBS) is a 25-item instrument developed in the Chinese context measuring behavioural manifestations of filial piety. Although the components of filial piety have been found to be relevant across cultures, little research has investigated the psychometric properties of the FBS in other cultural contexts. The present study evaluated the factor structure, internal consistency, measurement invariance and construct validity of the FBS across three cultural groups: the United States, Italy and Malaysia. Autorka zainteresowała się formami kolędniczymi, związanymi ze Świętem Trzech Króli (6 stycznia): tradycyjną grupą kolędniczą – Trzej królowie, nowszą – kolędnikami misyjnymi oraz organizowanym od 2009 r. na ulicach wielu miast w Polsce Orszakiem Trzech Króli, czyli oryginalną procesją uliczną.
