Sobre el origen de la cognición

El presente artículo se ocupa de examinar dos teorías sobre el origen de la cognición. La primera de ellas es una teoría neurobiológica de los autores V. Mountcastle y J. Hawkins, pero trabajando independientemente el uno del otro. La segunda teoría pertenece a la Psicología Cognitiva y es de D. Gentner. Es interesante comprobar la fuerte congruencia que existe entre ambas teorías a pesar de tener, naturalmente, metodologías totalmente diferentes. Wittgenstein’s later philosophy addresses the subject of connection between the psychic life of the individual and social context, represented by language games which are played within a form of life. Power holders: one versus many. Leadership and elite theories

‘Leadership’ and ‘elites’ are two crucial concepts that refer to individuals who hold power within a community. The aim of the article was to demonstrate to what extent the two concepts and theories are linked with each other in the literature. A quantitative and qualitative content analysis of the encyclopedic and dictionary entries demonstrates a divergence of approaches: on the one hand, a fundamental separation between the two theories, while on the other hand, a tendency to identify the one with the other. This shows the need for much more dialog between the frameworks of these two closely related phenomena.

This chapter seeks to explain and evaluate Shapiro’s theory of legal interpretation, as it is outlined in his recent book ‘Legality’. More specifically, in the following I will try to provide (a) a reconstruction of Shapiro’s theory of legal interpretation, as it is developed in ‘Legality’; (b) an assessment of this theory of interpretation on its own terms (i.e. its internal coherence, its overall persuasiveness); and (c) an evaluation of the compatibility of this theory of legal interpretation with the general project of ‘law as plan’.
