Heavy Flavor Production and Decay With Prompt Leptons In the Aleph Detector

In 431 000 hadronicZ decays recorded with the ALEPH detector at LEP, the yields of electrons and muons in events with one or more prompt leptons have been analysed to give information on the production and decay of heavy quarks. The fractions of $$b\bar b$$ and $$c\bar c$$ events are measured to be 0.219±0.006±0.005 and 0.165±0.005±0.020, and the corresponding forward-backward asymmetries at theZ mass are measured to be 0.090±0.013±0.003 and 0.111±0.021±0.018, after QED and QCD corrections. Measurements for the semileptonic branching ratios BR $$(b \to \ell ^ - \bar vX)$$ and BR (b→cl+ vX) yield 0.114±0.003±0.004 and 0.082±0.003±0.012, respectively. Memorable tourist experiences versus ordinary tourist experiences analysed through user-generated content

Abstract This study aims to test some previously proposed MTE (memorable tourist experience) scales by using UGC (user-generated content) posted in social media sites, through script theory and thematic analysis. In addition, MTEs and OTEs (ordinary tourist experiences) are compared to identify any significant differences between their dimensions. The results suggest that some dimensions of the MTE scale (hedonism, novelty, meaningfulness, involvement, knowledge and serendipity) are significantly more frequently reported in MTEs than in OTEs, but are not exclusive to MTEs. The island of Ibiza, located in the Balearic Islands (Western Mediterranean), has remained free of introduced snakes for millennia, unlike the majority of Mediterranean islands. But in 2003, with the Mediterranean garden fad, the entrance of old olive trees to the island became common, and three snake species appeared on Ibiza, traveling as stowaways inside the trunks of the olive trees. The most successful invader was the horseshoe whip snake (Hemorrhois hippocrepis). Introduction. Pityriasis lichenoides is a rare, acquired spectrum of skin conditions of an unknown etiology.Case Report. A 28-year-old man presented with recurrent outbreaks of herpes simplex virus associated with the onset of red-to-brown maculopapules located predominantly in trunk in each recurrence. Positive serologies to herpes simplex virus type 2 were detected. Histopathological examination of one of the lesions was consistent with a diagnosis of pityriasis lichenoides chronica.Discussion. Population dynamics within host-parasite systems in insects is governed by a series of factors, both endogenous and exogenous. Among them, five factors may be considered as major drivers: the respective inherent rates of increase of the host and of the parasite, the level of resource available to the host, the respective immigration rates of the host and of the parasite.
