International audience; The main objective of this study is to test the perception of the vowel /y/ among the Polish learners of FLE, as it does not exist in their natural vowel system. We defend the hypothesis that optimal perception conditions can make the identification and acquisition of new sounds more intelligible.; L'objectif principal de cette étude est de tester la perception de la voyelle /y/ chez des apprenants polonais du FLE, celle-ci n'existant pas, en effet, dans leur système vocalique naturel. Nous défendons l'hypothèse selon laquelle des conditions de perception optimales peuvent rendre plus nettes, plus intelligibles, la perception et l'acquisition de sons nouveaux.

Interaction between students and teachers is fundamental and has therefore been widely studied in education. However, there have been few studies on intensive spe-cial support being provided to vocational education and training (VET) students. Firstly, the focus of this article is on students’ perceptions of interactions with their class teachers. Students (aged 17–34 years) from four Finnish vocational institutions providing intensive special support were interviewed. In this article, we apply critical discourse analysis and ethnography to examine conceptionsand experiences of inclusive interaction and language use in the context of eldercare in aretirement home. Our data consist of interviews with residents, nurses and managers intwo bilingual eldercare units, as well as ethnographic observations of communication andlanguage use in these units. Our analysis focuses especially on language ideologies andmetalinguistic aspects of inclusive language in the context of eldercare. Fragmentation of habitat, for example by intensive agricultural practices, can be detrimental to local biodiversity. However, it often remains unclear whether such biodiversity declines are caused by loss of habitat area or increased fragmentation, and how habitat quality factors into it. In our study system, vegetated vineyards are typically small, and isolated from one another, potentially limiting the distribution and dispersal of organisms. Digital technologies have become an inseparable part of most workplace activities. In this article, we discuss the study of digital work in the context of complex organizational practices. We lay out some methodological challenges and suggest some possible solutions to them. Firstly, we contend that we should take into consideration the multimedial nature of organizational practices. The present investigation addresses the gravity of mispronunciation for the intelligibility of English spoken by L1 Finland-Swedish teenagers. Previous research on the topic has been scarce, and even though there is some knowledge about the typical pronunciation challenges faced by this learner group, there is hardly any empirical research on the extent to which the typical mispronunciations actually cause misunderstandings. Abstract Despite the biologically damaging impacts of solar ultraviolet radiation (UV) in nature, little is known about its natural variability, forcing mechanisms, and long-term effects on ecosystems and organisms. La expansión urbana acelerada producida en décadas recientes en las grandes áreas metropolitanas como Valencia conlleva importantes impactos ambientales, entre ellos la impermeabilización o "sellado antropogénico" del suelo y la pérdida de espacios naturales de gran valor paisajístico. Este trabajo analiza la evolución de la cobertura artificial en el Área Metropolitana de Valencia (AMV) en el periodo 1984-2011 a partir de imágenes Landsat TM y ETM+, validadas a partir de datos SIOSE de mayor resolución espacial.
