Suitability Of Cellular Network Signaling Data For Origin-Destination Matrix Construction: A Case Study Of Lyon Region (France)

2019

TRB 2019, 98th Annual Meeting Transportation Research Board, Washigton, D.C., ETATS-UNIS, 13-/01/2019 - 17/01/2019; Spatiotemporal data, and more specifically origin-destination matrices, are critical inputs to mobility studies for transportation planning and urban management purposes. In this paper, we propose a methodology to infer origin-destination (O-D) matrices based on passively-collected cellular signaling data of millions of anonymized mobile phone users in the Rhône-Alpes region, France. This dataset, which consists of records time-stamped with users' unique identifier and tower locations, is used to first analyze the cell phone activity degree indicators of each user in orde…

RESPONSABILITÉ EST PLANIFICATION. OEdipe planificateur de la ville du présent.

2016

Synthetic evaluation of territorial sustainability : strengths and weaknesses of modeling in the planning process

2017

This thesis work is based on issues aimed at assessing the impacts of planning decisions in the light of the imperatives of sustainable development. Beyond the vagueness that often emerges from this concept, the aim here is to reflect on a better balance to be found between the three fields generally identified as pillars of sustainable development: the economic, the social and the environmental. The objective is part of the following reflection: how to evaluate the impacts of management policies in each of these three pillars, and what conclusions to draw from them? The aim here is to provide answers by assessing the performance of the territories studied in these three pillars of sustaina…

Constructing the Audit Risk Assessment by the Audit Team Leader When Planning: Using Fuzzy Theory

2021

The aim of this study is to construct the assessment of the expected audit risk by the audit team leader (ATL) during the planification phase of the audit. The ATL plays an important role within the audit, and even more so regarding small and medium-sized (SME) audit firms. The audit risk assessment is critical as relying more (less) on internal controls implemented by the client leads to performing less (more) substantive audit procedures. This is determined by the ATL based on their professional judgement and previous experience. The use of fuzzy theory has powerful potential into the audit arena, as the audit risk assessment (outcome) is critically related to the auditors’ judgement and …

Shopping malls and neoliberal trends in Southern European cities: post-metropolitan challenges for urban planning policy

2016

Whilst shopping malls have been explored at length by critical urban studies, there has been little exploration of their role in restructuring the practice of urban and spatial planning. This article uses the shopping mall as an object of study in the light of the neoliberal trends and post-metropolisation in Southern Europe, with the aim of exploring challenges for urban governance and planning practice and with a focus on the role of the ongoing economic crisis. A threefold exploratory framework – the ‘lost-in-time scenario’, the ‘messianic mall model’ and the ‘(im)mature planning explanation’ – is used to make sense of the local versions of shopping mall development in Lisbon (Portugal) …

A normative planning approach for the Luxembourg : assessment based on spatial simulation

2015

In Luxembourg, daily mobility patterns of both cross-border workers and residents lead to a strong car dependance. This process encourages urban sprawl. Meanwhile the country is faced to increasing housing needs but has to reduce land consumption. Within this context, the main objective of this thesis is to throw light about the relation between residential growth patterns and daily mobility behaviors. In this way, a normative planning approach has been adopted. This approach proposes new planning norms for achieving a series of planning objectives. Quantitative rules are the tools used to apply the norms.Three steps has been done: i) conception of residential growth scenarios for 2030. By …
