Los Eva, plateros de los siglos XVI y XVII

El estudio de las sagas familiares es un aspecto importante dentro de la Historia del Arte. El presente artículo se ocupa de los Eva, artífices plateros de origen catalán que se establecen en Valencia en la segunda mitad del siglo XVI. Trabajan para el Ayuntamiento, la Catedral, el Monasterio de San Miguel de los Reyes de Valencia, así como para el Ayuntamiento y la iglesia de Santa María de Castellón. Con este escrito, intentamos realizar una primera aproximación a su vida y obra, camino que se completará cuando se profundice en otros fondos documentales.

El presente escrito es la continuación de un artículo sobre el platero Eloi Camanyes publicado con anterioridad. Agustí Roda, yerno de aquél, es uno de los orfebres más nombrados por la Historiografía, pero, al mismo tiempo, más desconocidos. Estas líneas pretenden aportar, a través del análisis documental, los sucesos más destacados de su vida y obra conocidos hasta hoy.
Los Toledo. Una familia de plateros valencianos del siglo XVII

Los Toledo -Simó, Vicent y Diego- fueron una de las familias de plateros valencianos más destacadas del siglo XVII. Este artículo aporta sumarios datos biográficos y socio-profesionales sobre su vida y obra, teniendo en cuenta, sobre todo, los fondos del Archivo del Colegio de Plateros de Valencia y Reino. En él, por primera vez, se fija la estructura de la familia y se facilitan noticias sobre sus exámenes de maestría -comienzo oficial de su trayectoría artística- y sobre la muerte de uno de ellos. El escrito se articula en base a la cronología, porque creemos que es el método más adecuado para estos primeros estudios.
Símbolo y visualidad en las cruces procesionales valencianas (ss. XIV-XX)

El presente escrito estudia la iconografía en las cruces procesionales valencianas desde el siglo XIV al XX. Hace un recorrido por la mayoría de estos guiones resaltando sus imágenes y símbolos que relaciona con el momento histórico en que se incorporaron a la cruz, distinguiendo las imágenes conceptuales de las narrativas. Advertimos una gran cantidad de tipos iconográficos en la época medieval, tipos que disminuyen conforme pasa el tiempo y llega el siglo XVII, centuria en el que la iconografía queda muy reducida y, de este modo, pervivirá hasta el siglo XX.
X-Ritz Solution for Nonlinear Free Vibrations of Plates with Embedded Cracks

The analysis of large amplitude vibrations of cracked plates is considered in this study. The problem is addressed via a Ritz approach based on the first-order shear deformation theory and von Karman’s geometric nonlinearity assumptions. The trial functions are built as series of regular orthogonal polynomial products supplemented with special functions able to represent the crack behaviour (which motivates why the method is dubbed as eXtended Ritz); boundary functions are used to guarantee the fulfillment of the kinematic boundary conditions along the plate edges. This thesis propounds an info-communicational approach of empowerment phenomenon in a market oriented context. In order to do so, we focus on discourses and communicational processes that refer to this very concept in “collaborative consumption” platforms’ framework. Massification of this type of services is accompanied by discourses emphasizing a socioecological “power” they would be carrying for consumers (as a more social and sustainable economy). We underline the gap between this utopia and the organizational reality of empowerment. First part of this thesis proposes to highlight this polysemic concept. Diffractive corneal inlay for presbyopia

[EN] A conceptually new type of corneal inlays for a customized treatment of presbyopia is presented. The diffractive inlay consists on a small aperture disc having an array of micro-holes distributed inside the open zones of a Fresnel zone plate. In this way, the central hole of the disc lets pass the zero order diffraction and produces an extension of the depth of far focus of the eye, while the diffracted light through the holes in the periphery produce the near focus. Additionally, the micro-holes in the inlay surface fulfill the essential requirement of allowing the flow of nutrients through it to the cells of the corneal stroma. Abstract Oceanic lithosphere worldwide is younger than ca. 200 Myr, suggesting that it must have been globally recycled by the recurrent formation of new subduction zones since the existence of subduction on Earth. However, postulated subduction zone initiation processes remain difficult to explain in many cases, and the specific geodynamic conditions under which these might occur are still largely unknown.
