Artikkelissa tarkastellaan itsemurhan ja lapsenmurhan kysymyksiä amerikkalaisen kirjailijan Sylvia Plathin (1932−1963) tuotannossa sekä kirjailijan elämään kohdistuvissa representaatioissa. Analysoin Plathille omistetun nettifoorumin Sylvia Plath Forum kirjoituksia sekä erityisesti runon ”Edge” tulkintoja Plath-tutkimuksessa. Teoreettisena lähtökohtana toimii René Girardin mimeettisen halun teoria. Plathin elämäntarinan kohdalla mimeettisen halun tematiikan tekee relevantiksi kolmiodraama, joka rakentui Plathin, hänen aviopuolisonsa kirjailija Ted Hughesin ja tämän rakastajattaren Assia Wevillin välille. El objetivo principal que persigue este trabajo es analizar los vínculos que permiten incluir el drama de la poetisa Sylvia Plath en el destino de Medea dentro de la estética de la pieza 'La chica que quería ser dios', ideada por la compañía de teatro colombiana Matacandelas. Las cuestiones que abordamos en el estudio del montaje colombiano se articulan en torno a dos ejes principales: la selección y redistribución de los textos escogidos y el cuestionamiento de la presencia de dos Medeas diferentes, la de Séneca y la de Eurípides, a lo largo de la obra.

From a memory of a master on the study of the material from the sanctuary of Beire-le-Châtel "The Pâtis the Letto" as well as new studies such as material from the fanum Lux "Le Bois Giraud", the objective of this thesis is to understand the people who live along the Roman road Lyon - Trier on the civitates of the Lingoni et go on these places of worship. The material found in these sanctuaries was confronted with one of the rural settlements to distinguish local attendance and passing travelers. This study explores the writings of Sylvia Plath Forum, a discussion forum in the Internet that was launched in 1998. Using Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis, Chaïm Perelman’s theory of argumentation, Kenneth Burke’s idea of identification as the basis of rhetoric, and René Girards’s theory of mimetic desire as its framework this study looks into the forum’s meaning-making processes and the ways the author Sylvia Plath (1932-1963) and her readers are represented on the forum.
