Image and Copy in Contemporary Deconstruction of Platonism

2017

This paper aims at investigating the relationship between some contemporary Interpretations of Plato's Ontology and the Theory of Image-Copy connection developed in many Dialogues such as Sophist, Philebus, Timaeus and Republic. By examinating some of the most relevant criticisms to this Theory cast by french Philosophers such as Deleuze and Derrida and by retracing the roots of these criticisms to the common source of Nietzsche's and Heidegger's Thought, the paper argues a way to overcome the stiff opposition which is commonly held between these two fronts, thus trying to refine the hermeneutical approach to Plato which almost dominated the XX century.

Co-simulated Digital Twin on the Network Edge: the case of platooning

2022

This paper presents an approach to create high fidelity Digital-Twin models for distributed multi-agent cyber-physical systems based on the combination of simulating components, generated from different modeling languages, each tailored for the specific domain of the subsystem. The approach specifically addresses the wireless communication domain, exploiting a Python module as a simulating component to evaluate the impact of network delay among the distributed elements of the system under analysis. A case study with a platoon of four vehicles following a leading car, all modeled in Simulink, is used to show the applicability of the approach, allowing the comparison between a Vehicle-to-Vehi…

Mimesis e ripresentazione. Dal platonismo all'ermeneutica

2012

This paper aims at reconstructing the critical debate about mimesis which occurs in the platonic literature of the twentieth century to show how much it influenced the thesis of contemporary Hermeneutics. Interpretations of the so-called “contradictory” use of mimesis in Plato were offered at the beginning of the twentieth century by scholars like Verdenius, Tate, Flashar, Koller et. al. These constitued, in their asking for a new reading of the conflict that this notion generates in the main features of platonic thought, the basis for a new theoretical expansion of the mimesis in the most recent years. The first thesis of this paper is that such positions as Gadamer's, Ricoeur's or even De…

Eidos un idea Platona vēlīnajos dialogos

2015

2017

Si cerca di mostrare che le tendenze eleatiche erano molto diffuse nell´ Atene del IV secolo, probabilmente nella stessa Accademia e che Platone ha scritto Sofista e Parmenide essenzialmente contro i Megarici Plato gives two constrasting accounts of Zeno's philosophical purposes in the Phaedrus and Parmenides. The Parmenides is more accurate in detail, and consequently it is more probable that Zeno intended to defend Parmenides' teaching, as he is represented as doing in this dialogue, than to accumulate eristic contradictions for their own sake, as he is represented as doing in the Phaedrus. Plato seems to be aware that one of the main features of Socratism, dialectic reasoning, originates…

Contribution to the platoon distribution analysis in steady-state traffic conditions

2014

The traffic flow analysis and the relevant vehicle distribution (“free-moving” or “platooned” vehicles) on highway facilities at uninterrupted flow has always had fundamental importance in Highway Engineering, with special reference to topics like traffic operations, car accidents, road safety and air pollution emissions. In light of this, the study suggests a calculation algorithm as a random test generator to simulate a steady state traffic flow and to provide time headways. Thanks to the outcome produced by numerical simulations, we analysed platoon distributions within traffic flows in a steady-state regime and showed the results of numerical analyses carried out by traffic random proce…
