PSMA6 (rs2277460, rs1048990), PSMC6 (rs2295826, rs2295827) and PSMA3 (rs2348071) genetic diversity in Latvians, Lithuanians and Taiwanese
2014
PSMA6 (rs2277460, rs1048990), PSMC6 (rs2295826, rs2295827) and PSMA3 (rs2348071) genetic diversity was investigated in 1438 unrelated subjects from Latvia, Lithuania and Taiwan. In general, polymorphism of each individual locus showed tendencies similar to determined previously in HapMap populations. Main differences concern Taiwanese and include presence of rs2277460 rare allele A not found before in Asians and absence of rs2295827 rare alleles homozygotes TT observed in all other human populations. Observed patterns of SNPs and haplotype diversity were compatible with expectation of neutral model of evolution. Linkage disequilibrium between the rs2295826 and rs2295827 was detected to be c…
A comprehensive analysis of Universal Soil Loss Equation-based models at the Sparacia experimental area
2020
Improving Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE)‐based models has large interest because simple and reliable analytical tools are necessary in the perspective of a sustainable land management. At first, in this paper, a general definition of the event rainfall‐ runoff erosivity factor for the USLE‐based models, REFₑ = (QR)ᵇ¹(EI₃₀)ᵇ², in which QR is the event runoff coefficient, EI₃₀ is the single‐storm erosion index, and b₁ and b₂ are coefficients, was introduced. The rainfall‐runoff erosivity factors of the USLE (b₁ = 0 and b₂ = 1), USLE‐M (b₁ = b₂ = 1), USLE‐MB (b₁ ≠ 1 and b₂ = 1), USLE‐MR (b₁ = 1 and b₂ ≠ 1), USLE‐MM (b₁ = b₂ ≠ 1), and USLE‐M2 (b₁ ≠ b₂ ≠ 1) can be defined using REFₑ. Then t…
ADHD and DAT1: Further evidence of paternal over-transmission of risk alleles and haplotype
2010
Contains fulltext : 87259.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Closed access) We [Hawi et al. (2005); Am J Hum Genet 77:958-965] reported paternal over-transmission of risk alleles in some ADHD-associated genes. This was particularly clear in the case of the DAT1 3'-UTR VNTR. In the current investigation, we analyzed three new sample comprising of 1,248 ADHD nuclear families to examine the allelic over-transmission of DAT1 in ADHD. The IMAGE sample, the largest of the three-replication samples, provides strong support for a parent of origin effect for allele 6 and the 10 repeat allele (intron 8 and 3'-UTR VNTR, respectively) of DAT1. In addition, a similar pattern of over-transmission of paternal ri…
Differential haplotypic expression of the interleukin-18 gene
2007
Interleukin 18 (IL-18) is suspected to play an important role in atherosclerosis and plaque vulnerability. We had previously shown that haplotypes combining two IL18 gene polymorphisms in complete linkage disequilibrium, C-105T (rs360717) in 5'-untranslated region (UTR) and A+183G (rs5744292) in 3'-UTR, were related to IL-18 circulating levels and cardiovascular outcome, the C(-105) G(+183) haplotype being associated with lower IL-18 levels and lower cardiovascular risk. This study was aimed at investigating the functional role of the two polymorphisms and their haplotypes on IL18 expression levels. Allelic imbalance experiments conducted in 24 and 20 subjects heterozygous for the C-105T an…

1990
EN COMPARACION CON LA SITUACION ANTERIOR A LA EXPULSION DE LOS MORISCOS, EL REGIMEN SEÑORIAL DEFINIDO POR LAS CARTAS-PUEBLAS PRESENTA, EN GENERAL, UN BALANCE POSITIVO PARA LOS REPOBLADORES; ADEMAS, SI SE CONSIDERA LA NECESIDAD NOBILIARIA DE CONCEDER CONCORDIAS SIEMPRE FAVORABLES A LOS ENFITEUTAS (O, INCLUSO, DE REDACTAR OTRAS CAPITULACIONES), SE COMPRENDE LA EXISTENCIA DE UNA NOTABLE DINAMICA NEGOCIADORA IMPUESTA POR LA CAPACIDAD DE RESISTENCIA. CABE DESTACAR, POR OTRA PARTE, EL PREDOMINIO ABSOLUTO DE LA ENFITEUSIS EN LA ESTRUCTURA QUE ADOPTARA EL REPARTO Y USOS DEL TERRAZGO DURANTE EL ANTIGUO REGIMEN, ASI COMO EL HECHO DE QUE LA DIFERENCIACION SOCIAL EN LA COMPOSICION DE COMUNIDAD RURAL SE…
Frequency domain control based on quantitative feedback theory for vibration suppression in structures equipped with magnetorheological dampers

The definitive publisher authenticated version is available online at http://dx.doi.org/10.1088/0964-1726/18/9/095041 This paper addresses the problem of designing quantitative feedback theory (QFT) based controllers for the vibration reduction in a structure equipped with an MR damper. In this way, the controller is designed in the frequency domain and the natural frequencies of the structure can be directly accounted for in the process. T…
Semantiskā telpa un robežas attēlošana Žana Bodrijāra esejā "Amerika"
2015
Prediction of Peak Shape and Characterization of Column Performance in Liquid Chromatography as a Function of Flow Rate
2015
Traditionally, column performance in liquid chromatography has been studied using information from the elution of probe compounds at different flow rates through van Deemter plots, which relate the column plate height to the linear mobile phase velocity. A more recent approach to characterize columns is the representation of the peak widths (or the right and left peak half-widths) for a set of compounds versus their retention times, which, for isocratic elution, give rise to almost linear plots. In previous work, these plots have been shown to facilitate the prediction of peak profiles (width and asymmetry) with optimization purposes. In this work, a detailed study on the dependence of the …
Vascular endothelial growth factor gene polymorphisms in ovarian cancer
2007
Abstract Background. Polymorphisms within the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) gene, the most important regulator of angiogenesis and vascular permeability, were shown to be independently associated with an impaired prognosis in various malignancies. No data have been reported in ovarian cancer. Methods. In the present multi-center study, we examined three common polymorphisms within the VEGF gene ( VEGF +405G/C, VEGF −460C/T, and VEGF +936C/T) in 553 Caucasian patients with ovarian cancer using pyrosequencing. Results. The three investigated polymorphisms did not correlate with any of the investigated clinico-pathological parameters. In univariate and multivariate models, only FIG…
