The measurement of culture in statistical systems is a rather new endeavor. In international comparison, considerable differences exist in classifications and indicators. This article provides an overview of definitional and classificatory approaches as well as transnational attempts of harmonizing cultural statistics. In particular, statistical systems and databases are introduced with regard to the cultural industries, artists, and cultural producers, organizations responsible for the dissemination of culture, and consumers and recipients of culture.

Erasmus + KA2 programme project “Fostering Competencies Development in Belarusian Higher Education – FOSTERC” consortium partners have met for the Final Conference in Minsk, Belarus, on the 6 th of December 2019. It was an exciting moment.  “FOSTERC” consortium worked together since 2016, many meetings, trainings, common research and creative work have been implemented in a cooperative way. The final “FOSTERC” event has summarised transformations and novelties that have been created in Belarus higher education institutions during the last three years. This article shortly reviews some insights and solutions that have been discussed during the “FOSTERC” conference in Minsk.

The practice of forced marriage rose as a new crime against humanity in the case law of the Special Court for Sierra Leone, but it has had a short and contentious life, being abandoned after a few years by other international criminal tribunals. This paper is devoted to the study of the international case law established by the international criminal tribunals -Special Court for Sierra Leone, and International Criminal Court- that have heard cases where allegations of force marriage have been raised up.

Administrators of French-speaking sub-saharan African universties are faced with a crule dilemna : with the passing years, their dwindling budgets have made it increasingly difficult for them to guarantee the proper functionning of their etablishments ; hence a decline in the level of competence of graduates and in research standards.
