Htid-1, the human counterpart of the Drosophila tumor suppressor gene lethal(2)tumorous imaginal discs (l(2)tid) encodes three splice forms translated into three cytosolic - Tid50, Tid48 and Tid46 - and three mitochondrial - Tid43, Tid40 and Tid38 - proteins. Here we provide evidence for the association of the endogenous Tid50/Tid48 proteins with the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) tumor suppressor in normal colon epithelium, colorectal cancer cells and mouse NIH3T3 fibroblasts. Using the Glutathione S-transferase binding assay we show that the N-terminal region including the Armadillo domain (ARM) of APC is sufficient to bind the Tid molecules. Unusual pattern of gastric and hepatic infiltration in an infant with acute monocytic leukemia

A 10-month-old girl with acute monocytic leukemia is presented. Ultrasound of the abdomen on admission showed an unusual distribution of leukemia infiltrates in the stomach and liver. The leukemic infiltrates in the wall of the stomach presented as intraluminal polyps, while the leukemic infiltration of the liver was strictly confined to the portal vessels.

Objectives: Few studies investigated the isolation of stem cells from pathologically injured dental tissues. The aim of this study was to assess the possibility of isolation of stem cells from pulp polyps (chronic hyperplastic pulpitis), a pathological tissue produced in an inflammatory proliferative response within a tooth. Study design: Pulp polyp tissues were enzymatically digested and the harvested single cells were cultured. Respiratory epithelial adenomatoid hamartoma is a rare lesion of the nasal cavity whose etiology and pathogenesis are unknown and symptoms are unspecific. It can be isolated or associated with inflammatory process, first of all nasal polyposis. It’s considered a rare lesion because it’s poorly known and consequently correctly diagnosing is important to a right surgical treatment and follow-up. In this project we used two specific food products, which are typically Sicilian, Pecorino Siciliano cheese and Modica chocolate, that have unique texture and taste. “Chocolate cheese” is produced with the aim of increasing the consumption of cheese especially among children, targeting the purpose of improving public health. In this research we investigated chocolate cheese including solid and molten chocolate in three levels of 5%, 10% and 15% at four ripening times (T0 = fresh, T1 = 2 weeks, T2 = 4 weeks and T3 = 6 weeks). Abstract Purpose In cold climates, glyphosate residues may linger in soils, with effects on plant–microbe interactions and, consequently, plant performance. Here, we explore the influence of glyphosate residues on the endophytic microbiota (bacteria and fungi) and performance of the perennial nitrogen-fixing weed Lupinus polyphyllus.
