Sound event detection is the task of identifying automatically the presence and temporal boundaries of sound events within an input audio stream. In the last years, deep learning methods have established themselves as the state-of-the-art approach for the task, using binary indicators during training to denote whether an event is active or inactive. However, such binary activity indicators do not fully describe the events, and estimating the envelope of the sounds could provide more precise modeling of their activity. Effect of Enculturation on the Semantic and Acoustic Correlates of Polyphonic Timbre

polyphonic timbre perception was investigated in a cross-cultural context wherein Indian and Western nonmusicians rated short Indian and Western popular music excerpts (1.5 s, n = 200) on eight bipolar scales. Intrinsic dimensionality estimation revealed a higher number of perceptual dimensions in the timbre space for music from one's own culture. Factor analyses of Indian and Western participants' ratings resulted in highly similar factor solutions. The acoustic features that predicted the perceptual dimensions were similar across the two participant groups. Au sein du vaste champ de recherche qu’est l’alimentation, les légumes et les représentations qu'en ont les mangeurs ont été délaissés malgré la place importante qu'ils occupent dans les discours officiels depuis la mise en place en 2001 du PNNS. Dans un contexte de stagnation de leur consommation, il semble judicieux de tenter de comprendre quels en sont les freins. Notre hypothèse veut que les discours médiatiques sur le sujet, dans la lignée du discours des autorités publiques, présentent les légumes avant tout comme un aliment fonctionnel, dans un pays où le goût et le plaisir restent pourtant des piliers de la culture alimentaire.
