Food choices at lunch during the third year of life: high selection of animal and starchy foods but avoidance of vegetables
2007
Aim: The objective was to show patterns of food selection by 2- to 3-y-old children for a wide variety of foods in a self-service cafeteria and to assess the effect of individual variables (gender, BMI, mode of feeding after birth and rank in sibship). Methods: In a nursery self-service canteen, food choices at lunch made by children (n=418, 24–36 mo; 109 observations per child on average) were recorded by trained assistants who monitored portion size. An offer of eight dishes (animal products, starchy foods, combination dishes, vegetables and dairy products), excluding dessert-type foods, was proposed. Choice level was calculated for each food. Analysis of variance was used to compare choi…

London 2012.
Atypical thrombosis associated with VaxZevria (R) (AstraZeneca) vaccine: Data from the French Network of Regional Pharmacovigilance Centres
2021
The current COVID-19 pandemic is an exceptional health situation including for drug use. As there was no known effective drug for COVID-19 at the beginning of the pandemic, different candidates were proposed. In this short article, we present the French public pharmacovigilance activities during this health crisis. Although COVID-19 is a confounding factor per se, owing to its potential for multi-organ damage including the heart and kidney, the quality of the transmitted data in adverse drug reaction reports, the timeliness of feedback from clinicians, and the real-time pharmacological and medical analysis by the French network of the regional pharmacovigilance centers made it possible to s…

Exploiting Low-Cost 3D Imagery for the Purposes of Detecting and Analyzing Pavement Distresses
2020
Road pavement conditions have significant impacts on safety, travel times, costs, and environmental effects. It is the responsibility of road agencies to ensure these conditions are kept in an acceptable state. To this end, agencies are tasked with implementing pavement management systems (PMSs) which effectively allocate resources towards maintenance and rehabilitation. These systems, however, require accurate data. Currently, most agencies rely on manual distress surveys and as a result, there is significant research into quick and low-cost pavement distress identification methods. Recent proposals have included the use of structure-from-motion techniques based on datasets from unmanned a…
A FEM model of rail track-ground system to calculate the ground borne vibrations: A case of rail track with wooden sleepers and k-fastenings at Caste…
2007
The prediction of ground borne vibrations is an important issue that needs a multidisciplinary research approach. The principal topics concern both the interaction between train and rail and the interaction between rail track and ground.
Automatic crack detection results using a novel device for survey and analysis of road pavement condition
2019
To accurately schedule maintenance operations, it is crucial to monitor the pavement state and, thus, evaluate the structural and functional indices during its entire service life. In particular, surface conditions (cracks, potholes, patches, rutting, etc.) must be properly checked – especially in terms of detection, identification, and classification of distresses – for avoiding reaching dangerous values for users (overpassing safety thresholds). However, monitoring and survey activities can be so costly (not only in economic terms, but further considering the execution time) to discourage their execution, with evident drawbacks for a proper maintenance management and the related intervent…
Estudio cineantropométrico, nutricional y ergogénico de deportistas de triatlón
2019
