Background To explore the relationship between individual skeletal maturity as assessed by Cervical Vertebral Maturity method (CVM), circum-pubertal phases of the dentition (early mixed, intermediate mixed, late mixed and early permanent) and chronlogical age in a cohort of Portuguese individuals. Material and Methods This was a retrospective cross-sectional study. The sample comprised 300 Caucasian Portuguese subjects aged 6 to 16 years, (137 boys and 163 girls). Schuchardt's doctoral thesis submitted to Bonn University in 1862 became the basis of the famous three volumes on the vocalism of Vulgar Latin (1866–1868), building a bridge between Classical and Romance Philology. He became a full professor of Romance Philology in Halle, Central Germany, and thereafter in Graz, Austria (1876–1900). The present paper develops the need for an all-encompassing view of tourism, exploring the limitations of other previous approaches. Under the premise that tourism is associated to a dream-like sub-system which controls social and personal behaviour, it is hypothesised that a new methodology of understanding tourism from a cross-cultural point of view, rather than purely a Western point of view, is needed. Background To evaluate the quality of oral cancer information in Brazilian Portuguese on Google, YouTube, and Instagram. Material and Methods The first 100 links of each platform characterized the initial sample. The websites and Instagram were evaluated using the JAMA benchmarks, the Discern instrument, and the Flesch readability index (Flesch Reading Ease). The existence of Health on the Net (HON) code was also registered on websites. The usefulness of each video on YouTube was classified as not useful, slightly useful, moderately useful, or very useful. The transition to democracy in Portugal in the 1970s provides the socio-historical background for this article. It focuses on the period of 1974–76, known as the revolutionary phase, when a series of progressive political programmes, forms of direct democracy, collective mobilisation and widespread grass-roots initiatives emerged in the aftermath of the dictatorial regime. The interest in computer-assisted interventions to promote literacy has increased over the years. In this study, we developed the Portuguese version of the GraphoGame Fluent and tested its effects on reading, spelling, and phonological awareness. Second graders struggling to read were randomly assigned to two groups: GraphoGame Fluent group (n = 15), which received a computer-assisted remedial reading intervention, or GraphoGame Math group (n = 15), which received a computer-assisted numeracy intervention.
