We will give full range of ( p , q , s ) ∈ R 3 for Ψ p , q , s to be jointly convex/concave for all K. As a consequence, we confirm a conjecture of Carlen, Frank and Lieb. In particular, we confirm a weaker conjecture of Audenaert and Datta and obtain the full range of ( α , z ) for α-z Renyi relative entropies to be monotone under completely positive trace preserving maps. Abstract The goal of this study was to analyze the time-course of sensory (bottom-up) and cognitive (top-down) processes that govern musical harmonic expectancy. Eight-chord sequences were presented to 12 musicians and 12 nonmusicians. Expectations for the last chord were manipulated both at the sensory level (i.e., the last chord was sensory consonant or dissonant) and at the cognitive level (the harmonic function of the target was varied by manipulating the harmonic context built up by the first six chords of the sequence). Piero Sraffa on utility and the 'subjective method' in the 1920s: A tentative appraisal of Sraffa's unpublished manuscripts

The paper reconstructs Sraffa's assessment of utility-based and individualistic explanations of demand in Marshallian economics in the light of some fresh evidence provided by Sraffa's unpublished manuscripts of the 1920s. It is shown that Sraffa criticised the standard Marshallian explanation of individual consumption choices, emphasised the independent measurement requirement in explanation, lacked enthusiasm for the heuristic potentialities of the 'subjective method' in economic theorising and strove for an analysis of the phenomena of interdependence in the sphere of production as well as in the sphere of consumption.

This note reproduces an unpublished paper on "Social Values in Economic Consumption" which Knight prepared for the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) Summer Conference, on Nantucket, Massachusetts in June 1931. This paper sheds new light on Knight in two important respects. First, it presents, in a more systematic fashion, Knight’s criticism of what he perceived to be the then standard theory of consumption. CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) has been claimed to create a positive attitude towards languages and language learning in general and to raise intercultural awareness. The studies on the topics have however remained scarce. This study examines the issue from former pupils’ perspective. The 24 participants, who received English-medium CLIL during their comprehensive school in the 1990s, were interviewed in-depth and the data were analysed qualitatively. Most participants felt that CLIL had had a very positive effect on their attitudes towards English. Singular Double Phase Problems with Convection

We consider a nonlinear Dirichlet problem driven by the sum of a $p$ -Laplacian and of a $q$ -Laplacian (double phase equation). In the reaction we have the combined effects of a singular term and of a gradient dependent term (convection) which is locally defined. Using a mixture of variational and topological methods, together with suitable truncation and comparison techniques, we prove the existence of a positive smooth solution.

We consider a nonlinear Robin problem driven by the p-Laplacian and with a convection term f(z,x,y). Without imposing any global growth condition on f(z,·,·) and using topological methods (the Leray-Schauder alternative principle), we show the existence of a positive smooth solution.
Stabilization and lx -gain analysis of switched positive systems with actuator saturation

This paper is concerned with the problems of stability and l 1 -gain analysis for a class of switched positive systems with time-varying delays and actuator saturation. Firstly, a convex hull representation is used to describe the saturation behavior. By constructing a multiple co-positive Lyapunov functional, sufficient conditions are provided for the closed-loop system to be locally asymptotically stable at the origin of the state space under arbitrary switching. Then, the l 1 -gain performance analysis in the presence of actuator saturation is developed. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

En este trabajo se pretende contrastar la existencia o no de una relación significativa entre tamaño y resultados empresariales de las empresas agrarias, en particular de las cooperativas hortofrutícolas españolas.
