Volfganga Velša dzirdes kultūras jēdzienā ir ietverta metateorētiska Rietumu kultūras filozofijas kritika, apspriežot Rietumu filozofiskajā diskursā izveidojušās okulārcentriskās tendences. Literārā provokācija 20. gadsimta 80. un 90. gadu debijas dzejas krājumu poētikā

Bakalaura darbā tiek pētīta literārā provokācija (jēdzienu izstrādā un skaidro autore) kā dzejas poētikas sastāvdaļa. Tiek pētīta un atklāta jēdziena struktūra, meklēti šīs parādības cēloņi un aizsākumi literatūrā, realizācija laikmeta kontekstā, kas tuvākam aplūkojumam tiek sašaurināts līdz padomju okupācijas laika kultūrtelpai Latvijā, lai uz šo zināšanu bāzes analizētu atsevišķu debijas krājumu poētiku literārās provokācijas kontekstā. Bakalaura darbs ir unikāls šī jautājuma un jēdziena pētījums, kas var sniegt tālākas ierosmes dzejas procesu analīzē. Przyszło nam żyć w świecie ponowoczesnym, który funduje brak stabilizacji, brak jakiejkolwiek przewidywalności, niepewność przyszłości i powoduje, że żyje się chwilą, a teraźniejszość znaczy tyle, co całe życie - wywiera to wpływ na kształtowanie systemu wartości współczesnego człowieka. Rozdział porusza problematykę wartości w świecie postmodernistycznym, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem świata wartości młodzieży akademickiej. Autorka opiera rozważania na badaniach, które przeprowadziła w 2016 roku. W badaniach podjęto próbę ustalenia, jakie wartości preferuje młodzież akademicka oraz czy jej system wartości pasuje do świata postmodernistycznego i lokuje się w jego standardach.

Maģistra darbā „Pārkāpuma estētika jaunākajā latviešu prozā” ir pētīta transgresijas jeb pārkāpuma estētikas ģenēze jaunākajā latviešu prozā, par pamatu izmantojot 20. gadsimta franču intelektuālās elites teorētisko mantojumu, mūsdienu filozofiju, un aktuālās tendences cittautu literatūrzinātnē. Pētījumā tiek analizēti latviešu mūsdienu prozas darbi, sākot ar 2005. gadu, un aplūkots, kā izpratne par transgresiju tiek konstruēta un attīstās gan laviešu literatūrkritiskajā un teorētiskajā domā, gan latviešu postmodernajā prozā. Lines of development in social research on disability in Finland between the years 1970–2010

This article reviews the development of social research on disability conducted in Finland during the 40-year period from 1970 until 2010. The main focus is the connection of the research with the socioeconomic development of the country. The review starts from the emergence of a new disability service paradigm during the late 1960s. This new paradigm centred around the concept of rehabilitation, and had its roots in the birth of a postmodern welfare state during the same decade. Science fiction parody in Don Rosa’s ”Attack of the Hideous Space-Varmints"

This article concentrates on the comic “Attack of the Hideous Space Varmints” (1997) by Disney artist Don Rosa. The comic deals with Earthlings who invade the territory of one-eyed aliens. The aim is to study Rosa’s comic from a parodic perspective: how Rosa uses science fiction tropes characteristic to the 1950s cinema and comics and ridicules them. My methods consist of close reading followed by formalist comic analysis. While doing so, I also utilize the concept of metalepsis. The article explores Roberta Torre’s film Sud Side Stori (2000), an extravagant Italian re-vision of Romeo and Juliet set in the Sicilian city of Palermo which displays awareness of the global circulation of the story of the two ‘‘star-crossed lovers’’. In the film, which combines neo-realist cinematographic techniques with the artificial style of the musical, Shakespeare’s young lovers become Toni Giulietto, a lousy local rock singer, and Romea Wacoubo, a beautiful Nigerian prostitute who falls in love with him when she sees him standing on his balcony.
