We recorded urinary tract infections in the long term after surgical reflux correction.A total of 158 of 189 patients (160 females and 29 males) who were followed in 1985, an average of 10.8 years after reflux surgery were contacted again in 1995. At that time median patient age was 26 years (range 15.7 to 38.8) and the average period of observation was 20.3 years (range 13.4 to 26).In 82% of the patients febrile and in 18% afebrile symptomatic urinary tract infections had developed preoperatively. Between 1968 and 1993, 101 patients with bladder exstrophy or incontinent epispadias underwent surgery at our hospital. The standard procedure was ureterosigmoidostomy and additional genital reconstruction. Of the 56 patients who have reached adulthood 45 could be interviewed regarding social integration, sexuality and fertility. All patients have a functioning urinary diversion. Of the 45 patients questioned 41 have completed vocational training or are currently in training, 3 are unemployed and 1 lives at a therapeutic center. Cavernous angiomas are mostly small intracranial vascular lesions which can be intraoperatively localized by sonography or stereotactic methods. This paper compares the results of cavernous angioma surgery localized by frame-based vs frameless techniques. Thirty-nine patients with cortical or subcortical lobar cavernoma were operated on by a microsurgical trans-sulcal approach. The localization of the lesion was performed in 19 (49%) patients by frame-based technique and in 20 (51%) patients by frameless navigation. Background: The aim of this study was to assess the complications at donor site after lingual mucosal graft harvesting for urethroplasty. Methods: From March 2006 to December 2006, 30 patients of anterior urethral stricture underwent lingual mucosal graft urethroplasty. The site of the harvest graft was lateral mucosal lining of the tongue.
