L'oubli historiographique : la postérité historienne d'Histoire et destin de Gaston Roupnel

Histoire et Destin est, à l'aube du XXIe siècle, un livre oublié ; sans doute très peu lu par les historiens depuis cinquante ans. Gaston Roupnel reste surtout l'auteur de l'Histoire de la campagne française ; seul ouvrage réédité, et disponible dans une collection en format de poche. Quant à l'écrivain régionaliste, son étoile brille très faiblement depuis le milieu des années 70, confronté au succès croissant, à la fois littéraire et médiatique d'Henri Vincenot. Les héritiers de celui-ci ont su pérenniser sa mémoire en rééditant ses ouvrages, et en alimentant régulièrement le marché du livre d'inédits goûtés par un large public.

The Scotsman Mark Alexander Boyd proposes, in his 1592 collection, "other heroids", in which he gives voice to more diverse women than Ovid did. The article focuses on four epistles written in a Roman context (letters from Rhea Silvia to Mars, from Lavinia to Turnus, from Sophonisbe to Massinissa and from Pauline to Mundus), analyzes the modalities of Ovid's imitation, while underlining some original elements on Boyd's part.

What happened to the barbaric laws after the Carolingian period ? Some maintain a certain life, that does not exclude major revisions : it is the case with the Lombard law and the wisigothic law. Others, however, exist as traces, but all keep persistence, which points out their ongoing adaptation to social needs. The purpose of this paper is to update our knowledge about the forms of resistance of the barbaric laws in Western christianity from the 11th to the 13th century. Their obliteration in this period of starting construction of the modern state is neither simple nor linear ; we cannot regard it as a pure burial to the benefit of the new laws, feudal, customarily or roman as well.
