Students' usage patterns of video recorded lectures in an undergraduate mathematics course

International audience; It is customary for some universities to offer recordings of live lectures to students. Whether this improves learning and academic performance is debated in the literature. As with most technology, correct usage can lead to increased academic performance, but there are also usage patterns that can be considered counter productive, especially for learning mathematics. Considering the limited attention paid to interpersonal aspects of emotions, this study explored coaches’ perceptions of athletes’ performance-related states and how they used this information for its regulation. Using a case study approach, three coach-athlete dyads from competitive tennis took part in one-on-one semi-structured interviews. Individualized profiling of psychobiosocial states was used to assess athletes’ states in most and least successful performances and as a way of data triangulation. This chapter explores the practice-based learning of surgical residents. We concentrate on the challenges encountered and experienced by the residents during their clinical practice. In line with Billett (2010), we understand learning through practice as a process that arises through the exercise of occupational activities. The INRAE InfoSol unit, mandated by the Gis Sol, coordinates the French Soil Monitoring Network (RMQS) set up to assess the quality and evolution of soils in France. A local trained team collects management data through a survey with farmers or operators for each site and campaign. The initial objective of collecting all soil-related management data, answering multidisciplinary uses, has faced collection difficulties and lengthy interviews. The knowledge, attitude, and practice toward the use of ready-to-eat vegetables were evaluated in a sample of 701 (388 women and 313 men) potential consumers in Palermo, by answering to an anonymous questionnaire handed out. Food safety perceptions and behaviors were analysed; in general, interviewed consumers who perceived higher risks exhibited safer food behaviors. There weren't considerable differences in the use of these salads between two sexes; 81.4% of respondents uses these products to save a lot of time, particularly the graduates attach importance to saving in time (p = 0.001), and only 34.4% is worrying about high price.
