Medical applications challenge today's text categorization techniques by demanding both high accuracy and ease-of-interpretation. Although deep learning has provided a leap ahead in accuracy, this leap comes at the sacrifice of interpretability. To address this accuracy-interpretability challenge, we here introduce, for the first time, a text categorization approach that leverages the recently introduced Tsetlin Machine. This Colloquium addresses the issue of the shape of hadrons and, in particular, that of the proton. The concept of shape in the microcosm is critically examined. Special attention is devoted to properly define the meaning of shape for bound-state systems of near massless quarks. The ideas that lead to the expectation of nonsphericity in the shape of hadrons, the calculations that predict it, and the experimental information obtained from recent high-precision measurements are examined. Accumulating evidence has suggested the potential health-promoting effects of 5-hydroxy polymethoxyflavones (5-OH-PMFs) naturally existing in citrus genus. However, research efforts are hampered by the lack of reliable and sensitive methods for their determination in plant materials and biological samples. SADmote: A Robust and Cost-Effective Device for Environmental Monitoring

Time to deployment for wireless sensor networks could be reduced by using commercial sensor nodes. However, this may lead to suboptimal flexibility, power consumption and cost of the system. Our pilot deployment for precision agriculture and fruit growing research showed similar conclusions and outlined the design decisions leading to SADmote: a new sensor node for environmental monitoring. It was evaluated both in the lab and field, showing improved energy consumption over commercial solutions such as Tmote Sky and Waspmote.

A b s t r a c t. The aim of this work is to present a fast and cheap method for high-resolution mapping of calcic horizons in vineyards based on geoelectrical proximal sensing. The study area, 45 ha located in southern Sicily (Italy), was characterized by an old, partially dismantled marine terrace and soils with a calcic horizon at different depths. The geoelectrical investigation consisted of a survey of the soil electrical resistivity recorded with the Automatic Resistivity Profiling-03 sensor. La sperimentazione descritta nel presente lavoro riguarda l’esecuzione di numerose misure all’interno di una vasta zona del territorio siciliano racchiusa all’interno della rete di otto stazioni permanenti GNSS ubicate nella Sicilia centro occidentale, ed in particolare nelle province di Palermo e Trapani. In particolare lo studio ha riguardato la definizione di una procedura necessaria per ottenere la ripetibilità delle misure su punti di coordinate note. Nel lavoro si riporta la sintesi di una sperimentazione attuata realizzando una serie di test con palmari e considerando l’affidabilità della correzione egnos (prove riuscite, tempi d’inizializzazione, configurazioni satellitari, relazioni tra parametri statistici e tempi di fissaggio) e la precisione nelle tre componenti plano-altimetriche. l’accuratezza conseguita è compatibile con le modalità di rilievo di massima di opere di ingegneria civile e per cantieri stradali, o per operazioni di pre-inquadramento catastale.

Inter-patient molecular heterogeneity is the major declared driver of an expanding variety of anticancer drugs and personalizing their prescriptions. Here, we compared interpatient molecular heterogeneities of tumors and repertoires of drugs or their molecular targets currently in use in clinical oncology.
