Computation of the regime configuration of a meandering stream

Regime channel formation is a delicate adaptation to the imposed environmental conditions compatible with flow and sediment transport mechanisms. The present paper concerns the computation of the regime configuration of a meandering stream. It is supposed that the channel develops until it reaches the state of “final thermodynamic equilibrium”, where the ratio of the kinetic energy of the flow to its cross-sectional potential energy is minimum. An optimization procedure that allows the analysis of the regime channel formation is presented and it is checked using a real case.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the prevalence of good clinical response and remission in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients with longstanding disease treated with anti-tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) drugs at outpatient clinics. METHODS: Retrospective national study of 14 academic tertiary referral rheumatology medical centers. RA patients with a Disease Activity Score (DAS28) > 3.2 were defined as having active disease and could start TNF-alpha blockers. All patients received one TNF-alpha blocker plus methotrexate (10-20 mg/wk). Do we have to presuppose a self to account for human self-consciousness? If so, how should we characterize the self? These questions are discussed in the context of two alternatives, i.e., the no-self position held by \(\textit {Metzinger (2003, 2009)}\) and the claim that the only self we have to presuppose is a narrative self \(\textit {(Dennett, 1992; Schechtman, 2007; Hardcastle, 2008)}\) which is primarily an abstract entity. For example, early life quality might (a) positively associate with fitness (a silver spoon effect), (b) stimulate a predictive adaptive response (by adjusting the phenotype to the quality of the environment to maximize fitness) or (c) be obscured by subsequent plasticity. This paper studies the problem of predictive output feedback control for networked control systems with random communication delays. A networked predictive control scheme is employed to compensate for random communication delays, which mainly consists of the control prediction generator and network delay compensator.
