Magic informationally complete POVMs with permutations
2017
Eigenstates of permutation gates are either stabilizer states (for gates in the Pauli group) or magic states, thus allowing universal quantum computation [M. Planat and Rukhsan-Ul-Haq, Preprint 1701.06443]. We show in this paper that a subset of such magic states, when acting on the generalized Pauli group, define (asymmetric) informationally complete POVMs. Such IC-POVMs, investigated in dimensions $2$ to $12$, exhibit simple finite geometries in their projector products and, for dimensions $4$ and $8$ and $9$, relate to two-qubit, three-qubit and two-qutrit contextuality.

Automatic calculation of massive two-loop self-energies with XLOOPS
1997
Abstract Within the program package XLOOPS it is possible to calculate self-energies up to the two-loop level for arbitrary massive particles. The program package — written in MAPLE (Char et al., Maple V Language Reference Manual (Springer, 1991); Char et al., Maple V Library Reference Manual (Springer, 1991)) — is designed to deal with the full tensor structure of the occurring integrals. This means that applications are not restricted to those cases where the reduction to scalars via equivalence theorem is allowed. The algorithms handle two-loop integrals analytically if this is possible. For those topologies where no analytic result for the general mass case is available, the diagrams ar…
The exact bounds for the degree of commutativity of a p-group of maximal class, I
2002
Abstract The first major study of p-groups of maximal class was made by Blackburn in 1958. He showed that an important invariant of these groups is the ‘degree of commutativity.’ Recently (1995) Fernandez-Alcober proved a best possible inequality for the degree of commutativity in terms of the order of the group. Recent computations for primes up to 43 show that sharper results can be obtained when an additional invariant is considered. A series of conjectures about this for all primes have been recorded in [A. Vera-Lopez et al., preprint]. In this paper, we prove two of these conjectures.
On the Internationalization of Corporate Boards
2013
This study investigates the internationalization of corporate boards, using a sample of 346 non-financial listed Nordic firms during 2001–2008. Given a high level of international activity, these firms have surprisingly few foreign directors. The picture of international expertise changes considerably, however, if we also count the international experience of national directors. The percentage of foreign directors is related primarily to financial internationalization rather than foreign sales, and thus presumably to the monitoring rather than advisory functions. The international experience of the nationals covaries with foreign sales, and increases with the share of foreign directors. Thu…
Brima: Low-Overhead Browser-Only Image Annotation Tool (Preprint)
2021
Image annotation and large annotated datasets are crucial parts within the Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence this http URL the same time, it is well-known and acknowledged by the research community that the image annotation process is challenging, time-consuming and hard to scale. Therefore, the researchers and practitioners are always seeking ways to perform the annotations easier, faster, and at higher quality. Even though several widely used tools exist and the tools' landscape evolved considerably, most of the tools still require intricate technical setups and high levels of technical savviness from its operators and crowdsource contributors. In order to address such challenge…
Large Number Asymptotics for Two-Component Systems with Self-Consistent Coupling
2014
We shall consider the large number asymptotics of particle models for partial differential equations describing two component mixtures with simplest kind of self-consistent couplings. We shall recall in particular two examples related to different classes of models, the first one having both particle-like components and the second one having only one particle-like component (the other being described as a fluid); for these examples, different techniques on the probabilistic and analytic point of view are to be used to rigorously prove the convergence to a limit of the self-consistent terms in a “mean-field”-like asymptotics. The two models were analysed resp. in Bernardin and Ricci (Kinet R…
Standard model large-ETprocesses and searches for new physics at HERA
1999
Existing and missing calculations of standard model processes producing large transverse energy in electron-proton interactions at HERA are reviewed. The adequacy of the existing standard model Monte Carlo programs for generic searches of exotic processes is analyzed.
Bridging a gap between continuum-QCD and ab initio predictions of hadron observables
2015
Within contemporary hadron physics there are two common methods for determining the momentum-dependence of the interaction between quarks: the top-down approach, which works toward an ab initio computation of the interaction via direct analysis of the gauge-sector gap equations; and the bottom-up scheme, which aims to infer the interaction by fitting data within a well-defined truncation of those equations in the matter sector that are relevant to bound-state properties. We unite these two approaches by demonstrating that the renormalisation-group-invariant running-interaction predicted by contemporary analyses of QCD's gauge sector coincides with that required in order to describe ground-s…
Infinite rate mutually catalytic branching in infinitely many colonies: The longtime behavior
2012
Consider the infinite rate mutually catalytic branching process (IMUB) constructed in [Infinite rate mutually catalytic branching in infinitely many colonies. Construction, characterization and convergence (2008) Preprint] and [Ann. Probab. 38 (2010) 479-497]. For finite initial conditions, we show that only one type survives in the long run if the interaction kernel is recurrent. On the other hand, under a slightly stronger condition than transience, we show that both types can coexist.
