Entre 1976 y 1979, cientos de presos políticos en la cárcel de Córdoba fueron sometidos a un régimen de completo aislamiento e inactividad. Se prohibieron estrictamente las cartas, visitas familiares, diarios, revistas, actividades manuales, gimnasia y deportes con el objetivo de destruirlos física y psicológicamente. Para aliviar el tedio los presos elaboraron clandestinamente artesanías, dibujos y bordados con herramientas prohibidas como huesos, clavos, hilos de toalla y tela de jean. Although several prevention and countering radicalization programs in correctional institutions have been carried out in Europe and worldwide, little is known about their effectiveness. Thus, the current scoping review aimed at reporting on the state of the art of the literature assessing and evaluating such actions, identifying knowledge gaps, and examining methods used to assess their successfulness and impact. Deterrence – investing in resources that reduce the impact of an attack – generates a negative externality to other governments, making their countries a more attractive objective for terrorists, while Prevention – investing in resources that reduce the ability of the terrorist organization to mount an attack – creates a positive externality by reducing the overall threat of terrorism for all. Anne A is a prison officer, and for years, she has been working behind the walls—in low-security and high-security wings, with remand and sentenced prisoners. She says: We are there fifty per cent in order to keep an eye on them, to ensure that they stay here [in prison]. The other fifty per cent we are trying to help them. They may be drug users or have other problems, and it’s just as much our duty to help them as to watch them. And when we help, this contributes to security just as much as a locked door or an alarm.

This article will focus on Articles 41–44 of the Recast European Insolvency Regulation (Regulation 2015/848) and the dynamic of cooperation and communication between courts and insolvency practitioners. Two main ideas will be maintained. Il saggio “L’ex convento carcere di San Vito di Agrigento. Studi sulle trasformazioni e proposte per la sua conservazione” indaga l’antico convento dei frati Minori di Agrigento, trasformato nel sec. XIX in carcere di Agrigento. Il convento, costruito fuori le mura della città, era costituito dalla chiesa, dal chiostro e dal convento con le celle e gli spazi comuni dei frati. La nuova destinazione a carcere, con i lavori effettuati tra la metà del sec. XIX, primi e metà del sec. XX, ha in parte distrutto e occultato il convento medievale.
