En este trabajo se presenta una investigación descriptiva que muestra las relaciones entre cinco factores motivacionales y estratégicos (planificación, estrategias cognitivas, autocontrol, esfuerzo y autoeficacia) y el rendimiento en la resolución de problemas. Se administró a 66 maestras y maestros de primaria en formación un cuadernillo con dos problemas (problema 1 y problema 2) y el test de O'Neil y Schacter. International audience; In this study, we present a teaching situation to work on the modelling process using real data taken in classroom with tablets. The situation allowed us to work on the concept of the quadratic function with a group of 11th grade students and take into account the hypothesis that the qualitative analysis of the phenomenon, the knowledge of the qualitative properties of the families of functions and the meaning of the parameters are crucial elements for the management and control of the modelling process. In the present chapter we will explore education success in mathematics, in particular as regards reinforcing problem solving, trying to overcome a widespread view of deficit, which leads to attention being focused on what students cannot do or do not know how to do and which, in the majority of cases, is due to poor language proficiency. By focusing solely on these areas one runs the risk of involving students in simple cognitive activities that require the memorisation of rules and algorithms and the application of resolution strategies, which have already been dealt with, instead of more complex cognitive activities such as problem solving and argumentation. This paper aims to better understand the social aspects of collaborative problem solving (CPS) through studying joint attention behaviour (JAB) in an online game–like environment. To capture these behaviours and exemplify how ‘jointness’ is achieved in CPS in remote dyadic interaction, event-related measures are utilised based on the following multiple interaction data: (1) individuals’ gaze data from CPS task completion and (2) automatically generated log files (i.e. chats and actions) from dyadic interactions.
