Reproductive Physiology ofAedes(Aedimorphus)vexans(Diptera: Culicidae) in Relation to Flight Potential

Total protein, lipid, and glycogen of Aedes vexans (Meigen) were related linearly to body size at eclosion. Starvation after emergence led to the determination of minimal irreducible amounts of protein, lipid, and glycogen and the availability of the teneral reserves, whereas access to sucrose revealed the potential for reserve synthesis. Glycogenesis and lipogenesis increased reserves approximately 10-fold the teneral value within 1 and 2 wk after emergence, respectively. Carbohydrate feeding was an essential behavior before blood feeding and oogenesis commenced. Female flight was tested on a flight mill. Application of Potassium Ion Impregnated Titanium Dioxide as Nanocatalyst for Transesterification of Linseed Oil

The current work comprises the investigation of biodiesel production from linseed oil using TiO2 and a potassium L-tartrate monobasic (C4H5KO6)-modified TiO2 nanocatalyst. Different amounts of C4H5KO6 were considered for TiO2 modification. The nanocatalyst TiO2–0.5C4H5KO6 (1:0.5 molar ratio) showed the best conversion rate for biodiesel production. The nanocatalyst was characterized by FTIR, XRD, TEM, BET, and XPS, and the Hammett indicator–benzenecarboxylic acid titration method was used for basicity measurement. National forest inventories (NFI) in Finland provide empirical evidence for a marked increase in tree growth, total forest area, and total timber volume over the past century. Transverse momentum distributions for exclusive $\varrho^{0}$ muoproduction

We have studied transverse momentum distributions for exclusive rho(0) muoproduction on protons and heavier nuclei at 2 < Q2 < 25 GeV2. The Q2 dependence of the slopes of the p(t)2 and t' distributions is discussed. The influence of the non-exclusive background is investigated. The p(t)2-slope for exclusive events is 4.3 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.7 GeV-2 at large Q2. The p(t)2 spectra are much softer than inclusive p(t)2 spectra of leading hadrons produced in deep inelastic scattering.

Possibility of using NiCO2O4 alloy as catalyst for fuel electrode of hydrazine fuel cell

The work presents a possibility of the use of NiCo2O4 alloys as catalysts for electrooxidation of hydrazine. The research was done by the method of polarizing cuvers of electrooxidation of hydrazine in glass vessel in aqueous solution of KOH, on electrode with NiCo2O4 alloy as a catalyst. Conducted measurements show that there is a possibility of electrooxidation of hydrazine on NiCo2O4 electrode. The current density is low, but the price of the catalyst is much lower than platinum.

Praca przedstawia analizę możliwości zasilania ogniw paliwowych biopaliwami. Analizy dokonano na podstawie rozpoznania pozycji literaturowych oraz badań własnych. Przeanalizowano wykorzystanie biogazu, wodoru pozyskanego metodami biologicznymi, wykorzystanie alkoholu metylowego oraz olejów roślinnych. Wykazano, że w przypadku metanolu istotnym jest poszukiwanie katalizatorów nie zawierających metali szlachetnych, natomiast w przypadku olejów roślinnych uzyskiwane wartości gęstości prądu nie pozwalają obecnie na zbudowanie ogniwa paliwowego o dużej wydajności.
