Wiele aspektów wczesnej duchowości protestanckiej (mamy na uwadze szczególnie XVI stulecie) utrudnia usystematyzowanie jej w kontekście narastającej tendencji analizy tego okresu. Zainteresowanie wczesną duchowością protestancką znacznie wzrosło wśród badaczy w ciągu ostatnich dziesięcioleci. Konieczna stała się więc selekcja wyników badań. Celem artykułu jest próba wskazania, na podstawie implikacji płynących z rozwijanej w naukach społecznych badawczej perspektywy biograficznej, zbieżności w teologicznym opisie eschatologicznej rzeczywistości pośmiertnego oczyszczenia i sądu Bożego po stronie katolickiej i protestanckiej. Wspomniana perspektywa badawcza eksponuje m.in. trwałość każdej indywidualnej biografii, znaczenie samopoznania i niezbywalną odpowiedzialność za dojrzewanie do pełni własnej tożsamości. The article address the problem of limiting the rights of Protestants and other non-Catholic Christian denominations during the reigns of two kings from the Wettin dynasty - King Augustus II (1697-1733). The process started as early as the second half of the 17th century, but it was fully accomplished in the years 1717-1736. In the article the author discussed the resolutions of the sejms and other legal acts introduced at that time, the aim of which was to eliminate dissenters from public life. The Polish monarchs were inert towards the process. It was the rulers of non - Catholic European states (Prussia, Russia and Great Britain) that helped Protestants an Orthodox Christans in Poland
