Macrocyclic oligoureas with xanthene and diphenyl ether units

2009

Two cyclic oligoureas with 64- and 80-membered rings in which two sets of three or four rigid xanthene (X) units are connected via flexible diphenyl ether (D) units were synthesized by a stepwise fragment condensation. The compounds were characterized by (1)H NMR and ESI mass spectrometry. The structure of the cyclic octamer (XXXDXXXD) was additionally confirmed by single crystal X-ray analysis. The molecule assumes a strongly folded conformation with distorted C(2)-symmetry, stabilized by intramolecular hydrogen bonds. Surprisingly, intermolecular hydrogen bonds between the macrocycles were not observed. (1)H NMR spectra suggest a C(2) symmetrical conformation of the octamer in solution al…

Chemistry and Photochemistry of 2,6-Bis(2-hydroxybenzilidene)cyclohexanone. An Example of a Compound Following the Anthocyanins Network of Chemical R…

2014

The kinetics and thermodynamics of the 2,6-bis(2-hydroxybenzilidene)cyclohexanone chemical reactions network was studied at different pH values using NMR, UV-vis, continuous irradiation, and flash photolysis. The chemical behavior of the system partially resembles anthocyanins and their analogue compounds. 2,6-Bis(2-hydroxybenzilidene)cyclohexanone exhibits a slow color change from yellow to red styrylflavylium under extreme acidic conditions. The rate constant for this process (5 × 10(-5) s(-1)) is pH independent and controlled by the cis-trans isomerization barrier. However, the interesting feature is the appearance of the colorless compound, 7,8-dihydro-6H-chromeno[3,2-d]xanthene, isolat…

Toward engineering efficient peptidomimetics. Screening conformational landscape of two modified dehydroaminoacids

2013

Effective peptidomimetics should posses structural rigidity and appropriate interaction pattern leading to potential spatial and electronic matching to the target receptor site. Rational design of such small bioactive molecules could push chemical synthesis and molecular modeling toward faster progress in medicinal chemistry. Conformational properties of N-t-butoxycarbonyl-glycine-(E/Z)-dehydrophenylalanine N′,N′-dimethylamides (Boc-Gly-(E/Z)-ΔPhe-NMe2) in chloroform were studied by NMR and IR spectroscopy. The experimental findings were supported by extensive calculations at DFT(B3LYP, M06-2X) and MP2 levels of theory and the β-turn tendency for both isomers of the studied dipeptide were d…

Nebenreaktionen der radikalisch ausgelösten Cyclisierung von 2,2′-Methylen-bis(4-methyl-1,2-phenylen)-dimethacrylat

1979

2,2′-Methylene-bis(4-methyl-1,2-phenylene) dimethacrylate (1) was reacted with an excess of 2,2′-azoiso-butyronitrile (mole ratio 1:15) highly diluted in boiling benzene. The reaction products were separated by column chromatography. It was found that the 1-cyano-1-methylethyl radical induced the cyclization of 1 to yield the product of a head to tail addition (2) in 55% yield. In addition, the product of a head to head addition (3) was isolated in 4% yield. 35% of 1 reacted in the same way as it has already been observed as suppression of polymerization in the case of p-tolyl methacrylate to give the products 4 and 5. The structures of the products were confirmed by elemental analyses, by …

Efficient Synthesis and X-ray Structure of [1,2,4]Triazolo[4,3-a]pyridines via Oxidative Cyclization Using N-Chlorosuccinimide (NCS)

2021

Triazolopyridines are a family of compounds that, owing to their biological activity, have many pharmaceutical applications. In this study, 3-(pyridine-4-yl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine and 6-bromo-3-(pyridine-4-yl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine were synthesized by using the chlorinated agent NCS for hydrazones under very mild conditions. The characterization of these compounds was achieved by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FTIR, MS and X-ray diffraction. The compound 3-(pyridine-4-yl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine was crystallized in the monoclinic space group P 21/c with a = 15.1413(12), b = 6.9179(4), c = 13.0938(8) Å, β = 105.102(6)°, V = 1324.16(16)Å3, Z = 4, and R = 0.0337. Also compound 6-bro…

1H and 13C NMR Measurements of Dimethylchloroformiminium Chloride and Dimethylformamide Hydrochloride

1979

Dual proton and carbon-13 NMR spectra of dimethylchloroformiminium chloride 1 and dimethylformamide hydrochloride 2 in CDCl3 at different temperatures have been measured and the results compared to proton NMR data of dimethyl formamide 3. The energy barriers of internal rotation about C-N bond in 1 and 2 were considerably lower than that of 3. The values of E were 39.3 for 1, 55.9 for 2 and (lit. value) 89.3 for 3 (in kJ/mole).

Structure and biological evaluation of amino-functionalized PVP nanogels for fast cellular internalization

2013

Abstract Aminopropyl methacrylamide chloride-graft-poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) nanogels (NGs) were designed to exploit the favorable properties of poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP), such as its high affinity to water and complexation ability of ions, molecules and macromolecules, with the availability of primary amino groups for bioconjugation reactions. A thorough structural characterization of the nanoscalar networks was performed via 1 H NMR and solid state 13 C NMR spectroscopies, while solid state NMR relaxation time measurements completed the NGs description in terms of polymer network density. Information on the hydrodynamic size and surface charge densities were sought via dynamic light…
