Group dialectical behavior therapy adapted for obese emotional eaters; a pilot study

This study pilots the effectiveness of group DIVE for obese "emotional eaters" to reduce eating psychopathology and achieve weight maintenance. Thirty-five obese male and female emotional eaters receiving 20 group psychotherapy sessions of DBT adapted for emotional eating were assessed at end-of-treatment and 6 month follow-up for reductions in eating psychopathology and weight maintenance. Homonegativity (HN) refers to negative attitudes towards homosexuality, lesbians, and gay men. Few studies have investigated HN by combining the psychosocial and “clinical” factors, such as authoritarianism and neuroticism, with which it is associated. Past research indicates that personality traits (Lingiardi et al., 2016), as well as experiences of authoritarianism (Altemeyer, 1998), render individuals prone to the development of HN. Conversely, past findings concerning attachment styles have been more controversial.

L‟articolo affronta i temi legati al lavoro psicoterapeutico con soggetti appartenenti a famiglie mafiose a partire da una ricerca condotta su un campione di psicoterapeuti delle tre regioni in cui l‟organizzazione criminale è storicamente più forte e radicata (Sicilia, Campania, Calabria). Dopo le stragi del ‟92, infatti, l‟intera organizzazione Cosa Nostra entra in crisi e con essa i suoi membri.
