Abstract The article discusses the various German Shakespeare editions produced by the Deutsche Shakespeare-Gesellschaft (German Shakespeare Society) between its foundation in April 1864 and the end of the 19th century. The society’s eclectic editorial output ranged from a critical edition in 12 volumes (1867–1871), through multi-volume editions for the theatre and for German families (1870–1878), to a cheap one-volume edition (1891). Se investiga la proporción de trabajoa publicados en revistas biomédicas españolas y difundidos a través de MEDLARS, EMBASE, BIOSIS y SCISEARCH entre 1980 y 1986. Los resultados, se expresan mediante un indice de difusión {ID) aplicado a revistas y áreas temáticas. Sólo la quinta parte de loa trabajos publicados entre 1980 y 1986 por revistas biomédicas españolas se ha difundido internacionalmente (ID = 0.19). Además, el ID ha descendido desde 1980 (ID = 0.23) a 1986 (ID = 0.18). Sólo 4 publicaciones cuentan con un ID > 0.70 y otras cuatro con ID > 0.60 a lo largo del periodo. Assessing Peer Review by Gauging the Fate of Rejected Manuscripts: the case of the Journal of Artificial Societies and Social Simulation

This paper investigates the fate of manuscripts that were rejected from JASSS-The Journal of Artificial Societies and Social Simulation, the flagship journal of social simulation. We tracked 456 manuscripts that were rejected from 1997 to 2011 and traced their subsequent publication as journal articles, conference papers or working papers. We compared the impact factor of the publishing journal and the citations of those manuscripts that were eventually published against the yearly impact factor of JASSS and the number of citations achieved by the JASSS mean and top cited articles. The aim of this study is to contribute to a better understanding of challenges and factors which influence learning efficiency with electronic-portfolios. Based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM; Davis, Bagozzi, & Warshaw, 1989) we analyzed external variables (e.g., computer-anxiety) that influence technology acceptance and the actual system use in form of self-regulated learning. A classical result of Gaschütz affirms that given a finite A-generated group G and a prime p, there exists a group G# and an epimorphism phi: G# ---> G whose kernel is an elementary abelian p-group which is universal among all groups satisfying this property. This Gaschütz universal extension has also been described in the mathematical literature with the help of the Cayley graph. We give an elementary and self-contained proof of the fact that this description corresponds to the Gaschütz universal extension. Our proof depends on another elementary proof of the Nielsen-Schreier theorem, which states that a subgroup of a free group is free.

The market orientation-innovation-success relationship: The role of internationalization strategy

AbstractThis paper is focused on how relationships between market orientation strategy, innovation and business success could differ in an international context. The article develops a theoretical framework as an overview to the main relationships between these concepts. It also shows that international strategy can play a determinant role in this framework. Therefore, the article presents a study that includes interviewing 154 Spanish textile firm managers with the aim of contrasting market orientation– innovation–success relationships and the role of internationalization strategy.
