ABSTRACTCyclical recruitment and derecruitment of lung parenchyma (R/D) remains a serious problem in ALI/ARDS patients, defined as atelectotrauma. Detection of cyclical R/D to titrate the optimal respiratory settings is of high clinical importance. Image-based technologies that are capable of detecting changes of lung ventilation within a respiratory cycle include dynamic computed tomography (dCT), synchrotron radiation computed tomography (SRCT), and electrical impedance tomography (EIT). <b><i>Background:</i></b> Noninvasive mechanical ventilation (NIV) is an effective treatment in patients with neuromuscular diseases (NMD) to improve symptoms, quality of life, and survival. <b><i>Summary:</i></b> NIV should be used early in the course of respiratory muscle involvement in NMD patients and its requirements may increase over time. Therefore, training on technical equipment at home and advice on problem solving are warranted. Remote monitoring of ventilator parameters using built-in ventilator software is recommended. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is due to structural changes and narrowing of small airways and parenchymal destruction (loss of the alveolar attachment as a result of pulmonary emphysema), which all lead to airflow limitation. Extracorporeal shock waves (ESW) increase cell proliferation and differentiation of connective tissue fibroblasts. To date no studies are available on ESW treatment of human bronchial fibroblasts and epithelial cells from COPD and control subjects. Les traitements péri-opératoires des cancers bronchiques non à petites cellules (CNPC) : standards actuels et perspectives

Resume La chirurgie est le traitement de reference des CNPC de stades I, II et IIIA. Plusieurs essais randomises de phase III de chimiotherapie adjuvante ou neoadjuvante avec une chimiotherapie a base de platine ont ete menes dans les cancers de stades I, II et IIIA. Ces essais ont demontre un gain de survie significatif de la chimiotherapie adjuvante ou neoadjuvante evalue a 5 % a 5 ans dans les stades II et IIIA. Ce benefice a ete confirme par deux meta-analyses sur donnees individuelles. En revanche pour les stades I, le benefice de la chimiotherapie n’est que suggere dans les stades IB > 4 cm. Patients with pre-existing respiratory diseases in the setting of COVID-19 may have a greater risk of severe complications and even death.A retrospective, multicenter, cohort study with 5847 COVID-19 patients admitted to hospitals. Patients were separated in two groups, with/without previous lung disease. Reduced inotropic support after aprotinin therapy during pediatric cardiac operations

Several reports indicate that aprotinin treatment before and during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) might have a protective effect on the myocardium. We evaluated the hemodynamic effects of perioperative aprotinin treatment.We conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 34 infants (mean age, 2.5 years) who had cardiac operations.
