Digitalisaation vaikutukset kaupunkisuunnittelussa

2018

Is it “impossible to will to be punished?” Exploring a consensual way out of the Kantian dilemma

2017

In the Metaphysics of Morals Kant wrote that “it is impossible to will to be punished”. The main goal of the present paper is to challenge this idea. In contemporary literature, a similar challenge was attempted by assigning a pivotal role to the notion of ‘consent’. Therefore, focused on these antecedents, what I will try to do in this paper is to determine whether the notion of consent is capable of playing any role whatsoever in a justificatory theory of punishment.

Riconfigurazioni identitarie nei contesti urbani degradati: discontinuità e riflessività

2019

Minimal Morse flows on compact manifolds

2006

Abstract In this paper we prove, using the Poincare–Hopf inequalities, that a minimal number of non-degenerate singularities can be computed in terms only of abstract homological boundary information. Furthermore, this minimal number can be realized on some manifold with non-empty boundary satisfying the abstract homological boundary information. In fact, we present all possible indices and types (connecting or disconnecting) of singularities realizing this minimal number. The Euler characteristics of all manifolds realizing this minimal number are obtained and the associated Lyapunov graphs of Morse type are described and shown to have the lowest topological complexity.

The Wavelet Scalogram in the Study of Time Series

2014

Wavelet theory has been proved to be a useful tool in the study of time series. Specifically, the scalogram allows the detection of the most representative scales (or frequencies) of a signal. In this work, we present the scalogram as a tool for studying some aspects of a given signal. Firstly, we introduce a parameter called scale index, interpreted as a measure of the degree of the signal’s non-periodicity. In this way, it can complement the maximal Lyapunov exponent method for determining chaos transitions of a given dynamical system. Secondly, we introduce a method for comparing different scalograms. This can be applied for determining if two time series follow similar patterns.

Highlighting the divertsity of cactus populations (Opuntia spp.) in Morocco and modulation of lipid metabolism by natural extracts and phytosterols f…

2015

The objective of this PhD thesis is to characterize the Moroccan germplasm of the cactus Opuntia collected from different regions in Morocco, by studying the phenologic behavior, the genetic features and physicochemical composition, along with the molecules of high therapeutic potential which may have beneficial effects on the central nervous system cells from cactus extracts (fruit, flower, seed, oil, cladodes and spine) and compared to Argan oil. This work has been conducted in fours different laboratories sharing complementary analyses skills at agronomic, biochemistry, molecular levels. Our results are presented in three parts : (i) cactus agronomic characteristics, (ii) purification an…
