On the Fractal Structure of Evolutionary Trees

We analyse in terms of a fractal tree the time sequences of major evolutionary leaps at various scales: from the scale of the “global” tree of life (appearance of life to homeothermy), to the distinct scales of organization of clades, such as sauropod and theropod dinosaurs, North American equids, rodents, primates including hominids, and echinoderms. We also apply this type of model to the acceleration observed in the economic crisis/no-crisis pattern in Western and pre-Columbian civilizations. L’articolo propone un’analisi delle testimonianze relative alla connessione tra la morte di Pitagora e i culti delle Muse e di Demetra (la cui fonte sembra essere Timeo, FGrHist 566 F 131) alla luce della simbologia escatologica della musica e dei riti misterici, e del ruolo della memoria in ambito pitagorico. Tali testimonianze sembrano presupporre concezioni relative ai Misteri e alla katabasis, ambiti familiari non solo al culto di Demetra, ma anche a quello delle Muse, e rinviano al ruolo delle donne nei sodalizi Pitagorici. The first research question is about how three different textbooks for grade 10 presents the Pythagorean theorem through different representations. These representations are geometric, algebraic and textual. The textbooks are Tetra, Faktor and Maximum. The precision of individual representations and the precision between representations is studied. The chronology in the presentation of the representations has also been studied.
