Analytic form of the full two-loop five-gluon all-plus helicity amplitude
2019
We compute the full-color two-loop five-gluon amplitude for the all-plus helicity configuration. In order to achieve this, we calculate the required master integrals for all permutations of the external legs, in the physical scattering region. We verify the expected divergence structure of the amplitude, and extract the finite hard function. We further validate our result by checking the factorization properties in the collinear limit. Our result is fully analytic and valid in the physical scattering region. We express it in a compact form containing logarithms, dilogarithms and rational functions.
Bootstrapping pentagon functions
2018
In PRL 116 (2016) no.6, 062001, the space of planar pentagon functions that describes all two-loop on-shell five-particle scattering amplitudes was introduced. In the present paper we present a natural extension of this space to non-planar pentagon functions. This provides the basis for our pentagon bootstrap program. We classify the relevant functions up to weight four, which is relevant for two-loop scattering amplitudes. We constrain the first entry of the symbol of the functions using information on branch cuts. Drawing on an analogy from the planar case, we introduce a conjectural second-entry condition on the symbol. We then show that the information on the function space, when comple…
Hamiltonian lattice QCD at finite density: equation of state in the strong coupling limit
2001
The equation of state of Hamiltonian lattice QCD at finite density is examined in the strong coupling limit by constructing a solution to the equation of motion corresponding to an effective Hamiltonian describing the ground state of the many body system. This solution exactly diagonalizes the Hamiltonian to second order in field operators for all densities and is used to evaluate the vacuum energy density from which we obtain the equation of state. We find that up to and beyond the chiral symmetry restoration density the pressure of the quark Fermi sea can be negative indicating its mechanical instability. Our result is in qualitative agreement with continuum models and should be verifiabl…
Abelian projection and studies of gauge-variant quantities in lattice QCD without gauge fixing
1996
We suggest a new (dynamical) Abelian projection of the lattice QCD. It contains no gauge condition imposed on gauge fields so that Gribov copying is avoided. Configurations of gauge fields that turn into monopoles in the Abelian projection can be classified in a gauge invariant way. In the continuum limit, the theory respects the Lorentz invariance. A similar dynamical reduction of the gauge symmetry is proposed for studies of gauge-variant correlators (like a gluon propagator) in lattice QCD. Though the procedure is harder for numerical simulations, it is free of gauge fixing artifacts, like the Gribov horizon and copies.
Tree-Loop Duality Relation beyond simple poles
2013
We develop the Tree-Loop Duality Relation for two- and three-loop integrals with multiple identical propagators (multiple poles). This is the extension of the Duality Relation for single poles and multi-loop integrals derived in previous publications. We prove a generalization of the formula for single poles to multiple poles and we develop a strategy for dealing with higher-order pole integrals by reducing them to single pole integrals using Integration By Parts.
Nucleon isovector charges and twist-2 matrix elements with Nf=2+1 dynamical Wilson quarks
2019
We present results from a lattice QCD study of nucleon matrix elements at vanishing momentum transfer for local and twist-2 isovector operator insertions. Computations are performed on gauge ensembles with nonperturbatively improved ${N}_{f}=2+1$ Wilson fermions, covering four values of the lattice spacing and pion masses down to ${M}_{\ensuremath{\pi}}\ensuremath{\approx}200\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}$. Several source-sink separations (typically $\ensuremath{\sim}1.0$ to $\ensuremath{\sim}1.5\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{fm}$) allow us to assess excited-state contamination. Results on individual ensembles are obtained from simultaneous two-state fits across all observables and all available sou…
Measurement of Associated Production ofZBosons with Charm Quark Jets inpp¯Collisions ats=1.96 TeV
2014
We present the first measurements of the ratios of cross sections sigma(p (p) over bar -> Z + c jet)/sigma(p (p) over bar -> Z + jet) and sigma(p (p) over bar -> Z + jet)/sigma(p (p) over bar -> Z + b jet) for the associated production of a Z boson with at least one charm or bottom quark jet. Jets have transverse momentum p(T)(jet) > 20 GeV and pseudorapidity vertical bar eta(jet)vertical bar collisions collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider at root s = 1.96 TeV. The measurements show significant deviations from perturbative QCD calculations and predictions from various event generators.
Numerical Stochastic Perturbation Theory and the Gradient Flow
2013
We study the Yang-Mills gradient flow using numerical stochastic perturbation theory. As an application of the method we consider the recently proposed gradient flow coupling in the Schr\"odinger functional for the pure SU(3) gauge theory.
Magnetic field driven enhancement of the weak decay width of charged pions
2020
We study the effect of a uniform magnetic field B→ on the decays π⁻ → l⁻ ν⁻l, where l⁻ = e⁻, μ⁻, carrying out a general analysis that includes four π⁻ decay constants. Taking the values of these constants from a chiral effective Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model, it is seen that the total decay rate gets strongly increased with respect to the B = 0 case, with an enhancement factor ranging from ∼ 10 for eB = 0.1 GeV² up to ∼ 10³ for eB = 1 GeV². The ratio between electronic and muonic decays gets also enhanced, reaching a value of about 1 : 2 for eB = 1 GeV². In addition, we find that for large B the angular distribution of outgoing antineutrinos shows a significant suppression in the direction…
