Aims and background The aim of this study was to describe a case of primary orbital liposarcoma in Li-Fraumeni syndrome. Methods and study design In July 1998 a 20-year-old woman with a histological diagnosis of orbital myxoid liposarcoma underwent surgical treatment in our department. Since the patient's family pedigree met the clinical criteria for the diagnosis of LFS, molecular analysis was performed, which resulted in a molecular profile consistent with Li-Fraumeni syndrome. The purpose of this study is to verify whether the performance of ultrasound-guided quadrantectomy (USGQ) versus palpation-guided quadrantectomy (PGQ) can reduce the incidence of positive margins and if it can change the attitude of the surgeon. A retrospective study was conducted on 842 patients underwent quadrantectomy for breast cancer, 332 of them underwent USGQ, whereas 550 underwent PGQ. The histological type of the tumors and the margin status obtained with the histological examination were compared. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of fibrin glue in the prevention of seroma formation after axillary lymphadenectomy. Materials and Methods Hundred fifty-nine breast cancer patients about to undergo quadrantectomy or mastectomy plus axillary lymphadenectomy were enrolled in the study and randomized into two groups. Conservative treatment of initial breast cancer

The results of conservative surgical techniques (quadrantectomy or tumorectomy), axillary dissection and radiotherapy in 58 patients with initial breast cancer (Tt No, Mo) treated between June 1979 and December 1986 are reported. The disease-free survival rates after 5 and 8 years were 84% and 76% respectively. Four cases developed local recurrences (6.9%); 2 cases developed distant metastases involving lung and bone, and 1 case developed bone metastases without local recurrence. Two patients with local recurrence underwent radical life-saving mastectomy and are now free from disease.

Many cases of male breast cancer (MBC) have been diagnosed during recent years. The increased incidence of such a mortal disease has pointed out the need for solid and well-defined protocols in order to obtain early diagnosis, effective treatment, as well as a greater long-term survival. Although many similarities with female breast cancer support similar diagnostic and therapeutic paths, recent findings about MBC cell phenotypes and tumor behavior support the need for a more customized ai, t, i, ar. One thing is though sure: nowadays lack of knowledge about MBC needs to stimulate further research and the introduction of more standardized and univocal diagnostic/therapeutic guidelines.

The neuroendocrine carcinoma is defined as a high-grade malignant neuroendocrine neoplasm arising from enterochromaffin cells, usually disposed in the mucosa of gastric and respiratory tracts. The localization in the gallbladder is rare. Knowledge of these gallbladder tumors is limited and based on isolated case reports. Abstract The primary mammary chondrosarcoma corresponds to less than 0,5% of the mammary malignancies. For the period ranging from 1967 to 2014, only 18 cases were reported in the literature. A 41 year old woman found a hard nodule on her external right superior quadrant/axillary prolongation through breast self-examination. The vacuum-assisted core biopsy (VACB) revealed “high grade extra-skeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma”. A skin-nipple-sparing mastectomy with the insertion of a mammary expander was performed.
