ABSTRACTTwo new species of Batropetes are described from the Lower Rotliegend of the Saar-Nahe Basin in western Germany. Batropetes palatinus, sp. nov., is characterized by a narrow, anteriorly elongated prefrontal, a slender postfrontal without an anterolateral process, a trapezoid postorbital, and a large quadrate in exterior view. Batropetes appelensis, sp. nov., is characterized by a high angular, ‘Z’-shaped angular-dentary suture, no indentation between stem and plate of interclavicle, and scapulocoracoid without ossified coracoid. Complete sets of quadratic and cubic force constants calculated for four isotopomers of dioxirane (CH2OO) are used to estimate vibration-rotation interaction contributions to observed values of rotational constants (B″), thereby yielding empirical estimates of the corresponding equilibrium values (Be). At the highest levels of theory, least-squares refinements of atomic coordinates to both the empirical Be values and the associated isotope shifts yield consistent sets of structural parameters. The object of the paper concerns a consistent formulation of the classical Signorini’s theory regarding the frictionless contact problem between two elastic bodies in the hypothesis of small displacements and strains. The employment of the symmetric Galerkin boundary element method, based on boundary discrete quantities, makes it possible to distinguish two different boundary types, one in contact as the zone of potential detachment, called the real boundary, the other detached as the zone of potential contact, called the virtual boundary. This paper deals with the problem of robust stability and robust stabilization for a class of continuous-time singular Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems. Sufficient conditions on stability and stabilization are proposed in terms of strict LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality) for uncertain T-S fuzzy models. In order to reduce the conservatism of results developed using quadratic method, an approach based on non-quadratic Lyapunov functions and S-procedure is proposed. Linear flux observers for induction motors with quadratic Lyapunov certificates

International audience; We propose a full order Linear Time-Varying (LTV) Luenberger observer for the rotor flux estimation of an induction motor. Introducing a suitable reduced-order Linear-Time-Invariant (LTI) system that is always observable and controllable, we show that any arbitrary LTI design and its quadratic Lyapunov certificates can be lifted to the higher-order original LTV dynamics obtaining the same certificates. As a result, we show that arbitrary global uniform exponential bounds can be imposed on the estimation error, regardless of the rotor speed. Background: Health complaints are a good indicator of an individual’s psychosocial health and well-being. Studies have shown that children and adolescents report health complaints which can cause significant individual burden. Methods: Using data from the international Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study, this article describes trends in multiple recurrent health complaints (MHC) in 35 countries among N = 237 136 fifteen-year-olds from 1994 to 2010. New iPAD-based test for the detection of color vision deficiencies.

Purpose: To develop and validate a new iPad-based color vision test (Optopad). Methods: A total of 341 student eyes were enrolled in a first comparative study between Optopad and the Isihara tests. In a second comparative study, Optopad vs. the Farnworth-Munsell test (FM 100H), a total of 66 adult eyes were included. Besides the agreement between tests, the correlation between FM 100H and Optopad outcomes were investigated. Multiple regression analysis was used to predict the total error score (TES) from contrast thresholds measured with the Optopad test. Mass measurements on ${}^{33,34,42,43}\mathrm{Ar}$ were performed using the Penning trap mass spectrometer ISOLTRAP and a newly constructed linear Paul trap. This arrangement allowed us, for the first time, to extend Penning trap mass measurements to nuclides with half-lives below one second ( ${}^{33}\mathrm{Ar}$: ${T}_{1/2}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}174\mathrm{ms}$). A mass accuracy of about ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}7}$ $(\ensuremath{\delta}m\ensuremath{\approx}4\mathrm{keV})$ was achieved for all investigated nuclides.
