EPR hyperfine structure of F‐type centres in pure LiBaF 3 crystal
2007
We studied EPR spectra of pure LiBaF3 sample of high quality. For EPR measurements LiBaF3 sample was X-irradiated at room temperature, however spectra could be observed at low temperatures - at 77 K. All hyperfine structure lines of F-type centre could be well resolved contrary to our earlier studies of Fe doped LiBaF3 crystal. Qualitative analysis with g-tensor parameters derived from magneto-optical measurements showed that the F-type centre observed earlier by MCD-EPR techniques is the same F-type centre we observe with the EPR. We analyse origin of the hyperfine structure of the EPR spectra and their angular dependencies and discuss the structure of F-type centres in the LiBaF3 crystal.…
Mafia Women: A Study on Language and Mental Representations of Women Engaged with Mafia Members
2014
For a long time, women in the Mafia were considered victims who were unaware of the activities of the men in their families. However, it has recently been demonstrated that these women may play an important role in the organisation, particularly in the transmission of Mafia values. In this study, we explored the representations of self, relationships, and the Mafia world in women engaged with Mafia members. This was done by means of in-depth interviews and computer-assisted text analysis. A cluster analysis was applied to words used by the women in the interviews. Three clusters emerged that accounted for 85% of the principal contents of the interviews. These were interpreted as “represen…

Achieving Bologna Goals: Where Does Europe Stand Ahead of 2010
2010
Ten years have passed since the signature of the Bologna declaration. Seventeen countries have joined the process; since then, several new action lines have been added and the original action lines have often gained a new and more sophisticated content. The 2009 Bologna Stocktaking exercise included the traditional quantitative indicators, the criteria this time being designed to evaluate the goals set for 2010. In addition, particular emphasis was put on qualitative analysis on this occasion to provide a realistic picture of what has been achieved and which initiatives will take more time than anticipated to implement. The 2009 stocktaking shows that while there has indeed been important …
La economía social y solidaria en Grecia
2017
An analysis from the DSM…
2014
ABSTRACTFrequently in scholar context orientation professionals should make an evaluation from the students who present ADHD, using different demonstrated efficacy assessment tools. Taking as reference point the current criteria for the diagnosis of this disorder a qualitative analysis of the items is performed in six scales and questionnaires to collect information from teachers to the ADHD assessment. An assignation from every item to DSM-V criteria allows an analysis from the most frequent items, which ones have been omitted and which ones cannot be classified in any diagnostic criteria because of being referred to different kind of problems. It is noted some items whose are frequently o…
Democracy in schools: qualitative analysis of pupils’ experiences of democracy in the context of the Norwegian school
2021
A limited number of empirical studies have explored pupils’ democratic practice and the direct experiences of school children using a qualitative approach. The aim of the present study has been to analyse pupils’ experiences of the practice of democratic rights in the context of the Norwegian school. The study adopts a qualitative methodology, using semi-structured interviews with pupils. Three prominent school arenas were focused on: the mandatory pupil-teacher dialogue, the pupil council and classroom discussions. Three main markers of democracy have been used in the data analysis: contextual openness, participation and the ability to engage in democratic discussions. The findings reveal …
Into the world of e-waste: mobility among e-scrappers in Nigeria
2017
AbstractIn the management of e-waste, mobility of e-scrappers plays a pivotal role, especially in e-waste acquisition and sales of extracted materials. This research examines the relationship between e-scrappers and the locations of their work by analysing the influence of environmental and social factors on their mobility behaviour in Nigeria. A qualitative analysis of video material collected from 29 male e-scrappers in Nigeria between 2014 and 2015 reveals that e-waste has inherent properties that intermittently mobilise e-scrappers to search for recyclable and valuable electronic trash. Applying the new mobilities paradigm and the new materialism theory, we present that e-scrappers’ mob…
Qualitative Comparison of Community Detection Algorithms
2011
Community detection is a very active field in complex networks analysis, consisting in identifying groups of nodes more densely interconnected relatively to the rest of the network. The existing algorithms are usually tested and compared on real-world and artificial networks, their performance being assessed through some partition similarity measure. However, artificial networks realism can be questioned, and the appropriateness of those measures is not obvious. In this study, we take advantage of recent advances concerning the characterization of community structures to tackle these questions. We first generate networks thanks to the most realistic model available to date. Their analysis r…
Avoiding strange attractors in efficient parametric families of iterative methods for solving nonlinear problems
2019
[EN] Searching zeros of nonlinear functions often employs iterative procedures. In this paper, we construct several families of iterative methods with memory from one without memory, that is, we have increased the order of convergence without adding new functional evaluations. The main aim of this manuscript yields in the advantage that the use of real multidimensional dynamics gives us to decide among the different classes designed and, afterwards, to select its most stable members. Moreover, we have found some elements of the family whose behavior includes strange attractors of different kinds that must be avoided in practice. In this sense, Feigenbaum diagrams have resulted an extremely …
