This article explores methodological problems of qualitative research templates, that is, the Eisenhardt and the Gioia case study approaches, which are relevant for the business and society (B&S) scholarship and outlines a reflexive historical research methodology that has the potential to face these challenges. Responsibility in home-school relations : Finnish parents' views

Finnish parents' views on responsibility in the home–school relations were explored. Responsibility was here understood as responsibility over education and upbringing. The data consist of semi-structured interviews with 24 mothers and four fathers. In the home–school discourses, parents and teachers were often referred to as partners, and active parental involvement in school life was seen as a key to children's success. However, in some discourses teachers and parents were seen as polar opposites, e.g. teachers as experts — parents as laymen. Few references were made to children's responsibility.

This article investigates both the coping strategies employed by low-income unbanked consumers in Pakistan and the consequences of those strategies. Qualitative data were gathered from low-income unbanked consumers through in-depth interviews. The findings suggest that unbanked consumers utilize their respective social networks and various market and personal resources to cope with financial exclusion. In this paper we discuss a study on the approaches to modeling of students of the 4-year elementary school teacher program at the University of Palermo, Italy. The answers to a specially designed questionnaire are analyzed on the basis of an a priori analysis made using a general scheme of reference on the epistemology of mathematics and physics. We report herein the synthesis and characterization of a family of ligands containing different cation binding sites covalently connected to a thiopyrylium signalling reporter. The receptors L1–L6 are able to signal the presence of certain metal cations via three different channels; i.e. electrochemically, fluorogenically and chromogenically. An acetonitrile solution of L1–L6 shows a bright blue colour due to a charge-transfer band in the 575–585 nm region. The colour variation in acetonitrile of L1–L6 in the presence of the metal cations Ag+, Cd2+, Cu2+, Fe3+, Hg2+, Ni2+, Pb2+ and Zn2+ has been studied. The Effect of Interferences on the Uptake of Heavy Metals by Sodium (iron) Titanates from Waste Water

Sodium hexatitanate, sodium trititanate, sodium nonatitanate, and a new iron doped sodium nonatitanate were synthesized. Common interferences present in waste waters that hinder the removal of heavy metals by these ion exchangers were investigated. The presence of K+, Mg2+ and Ca2+ at 0.001-0.05 M concentration had minor effect on the amount of Pb2+, Cr3+, and Ni2+ uptake. EDTA on the other hand, interferes tremendously with the metal uptake. Both in ternary and in single system, the selectivity series is in the order: Pb2+>Cr3+>Ni2+. This order changed to Cr3+>Pb2+>Ni2+, in the presence of 0.001-0.1 M EDTA at pH 5.
