Decay chain information on the newly discovered double charm baryon state $\Xi_{cc}^{++}$

We interprete the new double charm baryon state found by the LHCb Collaboration in the invariant mass distribution of the set of final state particles $(\Lambda_c^+\,K^-\,\pi^+\,\pi^+)$ as being at the origin of the decay chain $\Xi_{cc}^{++} \to \Sigma_c^{++} (\to \Lambda_c^+ \pi^+) +\bar K^{*0} (\to K^- \pi^+)$. The nonleptonic decay $\Xi_{cc}^{++} \to \Sigma_c^{++} + \bar K^{*0}$ belongs to a class of decays where the quark flavor composition is such that the decay proceeds solely via the factorizing contribution precluding a contamination from internal $W$-exchange. Analyzing lepton flavor universality in the decays Λb→Λc(*)(12±,32−)+ℓν¯ℓ

Lepton flavor universality can be tested in the semileptonic decays Λb→Λc(*), where Λc(*) denotes either the ground state Λc(2286) (with JP=1/2+) or its orbital excitations Λc(2595) (with JP=1/2−) and Λc(2625) (with JP=3/2−). We calculate the differential decay rates as well as the branching fractions of these decays for both tauonic and muonic modes with form factors obtained from a covariant confined quark model previously developed by us. We present results for the rate ratios of the tauonic and muonic modes which provide important tests of lepton flavor universality in forthcoming experiments.

Analysis of the semileptonic and nonleptonic two-body decays of the double heavy charm baryon states Ξcc++,Ξcc+ and Ωcc+

We calculate the semileptonic and a subclass of sixteen nonleptonic two-body decays of the double charm baryon ground states Ξcc++,Ξcc+ and Ωcc+ where we concentrate on the nonleptonic decay modes. We identify those nonleptonic decay channels in which the decay proceeds solely via the factorizing contribution precluding a contamination from W exchange. We use the covariant confined quark model previously developed by us to calculate the various helicity amplitudes which describe the dynamics of the 1/2+→1/2+ and 1/2+→3/2+ transitions induced by the Cabibbo-favored effective (c→s) and (d→u) currents. Hyperon polarization asymmetry: Polarized beams andΩ−production

The parton recombination model relates polarizations in inclusive baryon fragmentation to those of the underlying constituent subprocesses. Measurements of spin-spin correlations in experiments using polarized beams will provide detailed information on the quark spin dynamics in the color-confining recombination process. We present a large number of predictions for the octet baryon\ensuremath{\rightarrow}octet baryon transitions. We discuss the production of polarized ${\ensuremath{\Omega}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$'s, required to measure the magnetic moment of the ${\ensuremath{\Omega}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$. Understanding the nature ofΛ(1405)through Regge physics

It appears that there are two resonances with ${J}^{P}=1/{2}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ quantum numbers in the energy region near the $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}(1405)$ hyperon. The nature of these states is a topic of current debate. To provide further insight we use Regge phenomenology to access how these two resonances fit the established hyperon spectrum. We find that only one of these resonances is compatible with a three-quark state.

Evidence for Exotic Hadron Contributions toΛb0→J/ψpπ−Decays

A full amplitude analysis of $\Lambda_b^0 \to J/\psi p \pi^-$ decays is performed with a data sample acquired with the LHCb detector from 7 and 8 TeV $pp$ collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb$^{-1}$. A significantly better description of the data is achieved when, in addition to the previously observed nucleon excitations $N\to p\pi^-$, either the $P_c(4380)^+$ and $P_c(4450)^+\to J/\psi p$ states, previously observed in $\Lambda_b^0 \to J/\psi p K^-$ decays, or the $Z_c(4200)^-\to J/\psi \pi^-$ state, previously reported in $B^0 \to J/\psi K^+ \pi^-$ decays, or all three, are included in the amplitude models. Light-by-light forward scattering sum rules for charmonium states

2017

We apply three forward light-by-light scattering sum rules to charmonium states. We show that these sum rules imply a cancellation between charmonium bound state contributions, which are mostly known from the $\gamma \gamma$ decay widths of these states, and continuum contributions above $D \bar D$ threshold, for which we provide a duality estimate. We also show that two of these sum rules allow to predict the yet unmeasured $\gamma^\ast \gamma$ coupling of the $\chi_{c1}(1P)$ state, which can be tested at present high-luminosity $e^+ e^-$ colliders.

We present precise theoretical predictions for the absolute branching fractions of ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}}_{c}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\ensuremath{\ell}}(\ensuremath{\ell}=e,\ensuremath{\mu})$ decays in the covariant confined quark model.
