The association between body mass index and fibromyalgia severity: data from a cross-sectional survey of 2339 patients

2021

Abstract Objective Various studies have shown that overweight and obesity are central features of FM, but the real impact of a high BMI on clinical severity in patients with FM is still controversial. The aim of this study was to analyse the relationships between BMI categories and measures of symptom severity and functional impairment using data from a Web-based registry of patients with FM. Methods Adult patients with an ACR 2010/2011 diagnosis of FM underwent a complete physical examination and laboratory tests and were asked to complete a package of questionnaires covering their sociodemographic and treatment details, in addition to the following disease-specific questionnaires: the rev…

Aim: To report the international impact of COVID-19 lockdown on oral healthcare provision for people with disabilities before, during and after the first lockdown (March to July 2020). Material and Methods Cross-sectional online self-administered survey of dentists who treat people with disabilities completed 10th to 31st of July 2020. Responses allowed comparison from before, during and immediately after the first wave lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were analysed using McNemar’s test to compare reported practice before to during lockdo…

Validity and repeatability of the Pediatric Allergy Questionnaire for Athletes (AQUAped) for the screening of atopy.

2020

BACKGROUND High atopy prevalence has been reported in athletes. Having an age-specific questionnaire for predicting atopy is important for an optimal management of young athletes. The study objectives were as follows: (i) developing a scoring system for the Pediatric Allergy Questionnaire for Athletes (AQUAped); (ii) identifying the optimal age target within the range 7-14 years; (iii) assessing AQUAped validity and repeatability in the identified target population. METHODS A total of 133 young athletes (age 7-14 years) were recruited. Following a screening visit, the participants filled AQUAped at baseline (T0) and after 7 days (T1), concomitantly undergoing skin prick testing. Using atopy…

Reproducibility and validity of a food frequency questionnaire among pregnant women in a Mediterranean area

2013

Background: Studies exploring the role of diet during pregnancy are still scarce, in part due to the complexity of measuring diet and to the lack of valid instruments. The aim of this study was to examine the reproducibility and validity (against biochemical biomarkers) of a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) in pregnant women. Methods: Participants were 740 pregnant women from a population-based birth cohort study in Valencia (INMA Study). We compared nutrient and food intakes from FFQs estimated for two periods of pregnancy (reproducibility), and compared energy-adjusted intake of several carotenoids, folate, vitamin B12, vitamin C and a-tocopherol of the FFQ in the firs…

Il questionario metacognitivo QMeta

2019

The analysis of both national and international literature of metacognitive questionnaires on reading comprehension has required the development of a specific instrument in Italian appropriate for the age of the su…

The analysis of a set of questionnaires composed of 151 items on salt-, sweet- and fat-liking using LISREL-type and PLS-PM techniques leads to equiva…

2010

International audience; Measure of salt-, sweet- and fat-liking is commonly assessed using sensory testing. However, this might become cumbersome with large number of subjects and products to assess. Thus, a questionnaire has been developed and administered through internet (Nutrinet-Sante Study) to a large sample (n=43 807) from the French population. The present study aimed to estimate the structural models underlying each sensory sensation (sweet, salty, fatty and sweet, fatty and salty) and to compute an overall score for each subject over each sensation using structural equation modeling (SEM). Subjects completed 151 questions based on (1) liking towards foods containing high amounts o…
