Singular integrals on regular curves in the Heisenberg group
2019
Let $\mathbb{H}$ be the first Heisenberg group, and let $k \in C^{\infty}(\mathbb{H} \, \setminus \, \{0\})$ be a kernel which is either odd or horizontally odd, and satisfies $$|\nabla_{\mathbb{H}}^{n}k(p)| \leq C_{n}\|p\|^{-1 - n}, \qquad p \in \mathbb{H} \, \setminus \, \{0\}, \, n \geq 0.$$ The simplest examples include certain Riesz-type kernels first considered by Chousionis and Mattila, and the horizontally odd kernel $k(p) = \nabla_{\mathbb{H}} \log \|p\|$. We prove that convolution with $k$, as above, yields an $L^{2}$-bounded operator on regular curves in $\mathbb{H}$. This extends a theorem of G. David to the Heisenberg group. As a corollary of our main result, we infer that all …

The formfactors are evaluated at zero recoil of D meson. Two different methods are used (see text for details). VCB is the KCM matrix element. The formfactor fitted to dependence: FF(OM) = FF(1)*(1-CONST*(OM-1)).

480 Background: Hepatic metastasectomy is the only potential curative treatment option for stage IV colorectal cancer (CRC) limited to liver metastases (LM). After R0 resection of LM the high recurrence rate remains a major challenge. L-BLP25 is an antigen-specific cancer vaccine targeting mucin 1 (MUC1). The LICC trial aimed to improve survival outcome in mCRC patients (pts) after R0/R1 LM resection. Methods: This LICC trial, a binational, multicenter, double-blinded, placebo controlled phase II trial, included pts with stage IV LM limited CRC after resection of primary tumor and LM (R0/R1) within the last 8 weeks, ECOG 0/1 and adequate organ function. Pts were 2:1 randomized to receive L…
The Saccharomyces cerevisiae Hot1p regulated gene YHR087W (HGI1) has a role in translation upon high glucose concentration stress.
2012
Abstract Background While growing in natural environments yeasts can be affected by osmotic stress provoked by high glucose concentrations. The response to this adverse condition requires the HOG pathway and involves transcriptional and posttranscriptional mechanisms initiated by the phosphorylation of this protein, its translocation to the nucleus and activation of transcription factors. One of the genes induced to respond to this injury is YHR087W. It encodes for a protein structurally similar to the N-terminal region of human SBDS whose expression is also induced under other forms of stress and whose deletion determines growth defects at high glucose concentrations. [EN] While countless studies on the role of clusters in regional economic developments and business performance have been done, some disadvantages and limitations also have been identified. Limitations such as small local markets, limited resources, isolation, and over-independence which lead companies to a lock-in state regarding knowledge and innovation can be solved by means of internationalization or foreign market expansion. Therefore, the internationalization of clusters still needs more attention. Furthermore, by conducting a bibliometric study based on the keywords from previous research, this investigation intends to identify the principal and most influential items, their relation…

One of the current global challenges is to find novel, clean and efficient techniques for the energy production. The use of electrochemical cells and hydrogen is one of the solutions. These cells convert the excess energy produced by conventional systems into hydrogen by steam electrolysis. The hydrogen can be stored and transformed into electricity when needed in the fuel cell mode. Among the different electrochemical cells, protonic ceramic electrochemical cells have attracted much attention due to their high efficiency at intermediate temperature (400 – 600 °C). In addition, these systems offer the advantage of not diluting the fuel in electrolysis mode. This thesis work focuses on the e…
Long-Range and Short-Range Structure of Proton-Conducting Y:BaZrO3
2011
Yttrium-doped barium zirconate (BZY) is the most promising candidate for proton-conducting ceramics and has been extensively studied in recent years. The detailed features of the crystal structure, both short-range and long-range, as well as the crystal chemistry driving the doping process, are largely unknown. We use very high resolution X-ray diffraction (HR-XRD) to resolve the crystal structure, which is very slightly tetragonally distorted in BZY, while the local environment around Zr4+ and Y3+ is probed with extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS), and the symmetry and vibrations are investigated by using Raman spectroscopy. It is found that barium zirconate shows some degree …
$(BV,L^p)$-decomposition, $p=1,2$, of Functions in Metric Random Walk Spaces
2019
In this paper we study the $(BV,L^p)$-decomposition, $p=1,2$, of functions in metric random walk spaces, a general workspace that includes weighted graphs and nonlocal models used in image processing. We obtain the Euler-Lagrange equations of the corresponding variational problems and their gradient flows. In the case $p=1$ we also study the associated geometric problem and the thresholding parameters.
