Rilkean Memories and the Self of a Robot

This paper discusses the concept of Rilkean memories, recently introduced by Mark Rowlands, to analyze the complex intermix of hardware and software related to the self of a robot. The Rilkean memory of an event is related to the trace of that episode left in the body of the individual. It transforms the act of remembering into behavioral and bodily dispositions, thus generating the peculiar behavioral style of the individual, which is at the basis of her autobiographical self. Sea urchins are considered to have a paramount role in structuring rocky shallow communities. Under certain conditions, grazing by sea-urchins has been reported to produce a shift from macroalgae-dominated communities to barren habitat dominated by encrusting algae. However, this process is not recorded at all depths. El objetivo del presente trabajo está encaminado al estudio de las variaciones de oligoelementos en la concha de un gasterópodo de agua dulce del género Melanopsis (U dufouri (FERUSSAC), con dos morfotipos) y si éstas tienen que ver, o no, con la fluctuación de una serie de parámetros ambientales. La importancia del trabajo radica en la posibilidad de la aplicación paleoecológica de sus resultados, ya que el género MelanopsÍs tiene un abundante registro fósil durante todo el Cenozoico.
