LA CITTÁ DOPO IL PROGRESSO: LA STAZIONE DI STOCCARDA E L’AEROPORTO DI BERLINO
2014
The city post-progress: the station in Stuttgart and the airport in Berlin. by Florian Hertweck. In 2012 the Biennale di Venezia dedicated an entire room to the Hamburg Philharmonic. This was a tribute to the project by Herzog and De Meuron, but not for its splendid architecture, rather for the disaster represented by its construction. In a country which has built its identity around its faith in progress and growth, as much as its capacity for developing, on the national scale, a complex of technical, social and cultural infrastructures that is among the most competitive in the world, the inability to bring projects of this scope to term reveals a change in paradigm. In fact, the failure o…
STAZIONI DELL’ALTA VELOCITÁ IN GIAPPONE. TIPOLOGIA ARCHITETTONICA E URBANA DI UN MODELLO PRAGMATICO
2014
High-Speed railway stations in Japan. The architectural and urban typology of a pragmatic model. By Corinne Tiry-Ono The Japanese high-speed railway service was launched in 1964, during a time of rapid economic and demographic growth. It gave birth to a new, standardized generation of railway stations, and embodied the Tokaido Megalopolis. Originally centred on the capital city, its network now stretches across the entire country, seeking a better balance in terms of regional economic development and the revitalization of peripheral areas. Topographical constraints, natural risks and technical choices (elevated tracks, frequent tunnels, and speci! c rail gauge) led to a physically and techn…
Dopo l'obsolescenza. Progetti per i viadotti ferroviari dismessi
2013
This article focuses on the increasing number of abandoned railways converted into new parkways, briefly investigating them trough the prism of obsolescence. Over the past forty years, the features matching with the average lifetime of infrastructural buildings have became of growing relevance dealing with contemporary policies in restructuring our territories. Since the entanglement of transport infrastructure, industry and architecture highly represents important segments of 20th century urban tissues,…

La regolazione indipendente del settore ferroviario
2019
The National Independent Authority for Transport, imposed by European Law and established in Italy in 2013, is characterized by using wide powers of control, regulation and sanction, which cover all transport sectors. Regulatory competences seem in particular to interfere, in some areas, with the functions, also of political direction, of the State, Regional and Local Government, as well as the competences of the other administrative independent bodies such as the National Antitrust Authority or National Anti-Corruption Authority. This requires the provision of forms of coordination and cooperation beetwen those authorities, waiting for a clear actio finium regundorum by the national legisl…
Brevi note sulla qualificazione giuridica dei beni costituenti la rete ferroviaria
2015
The paper synthetically describes how Italian courts and scholars interpret- ed the legal transformations occurred to the railway market, and notably to the rail-network’s infrastructure components property regulation, since the end of the twentieth century. The authors refute the (prevailing) opinion assuming a substantial continuity between the current stage of regulation and the regime of public property provided by the 1942 civil code; they show the reasons why, on the contrary, the rail-network components have to be considered as goods sub- ject to private property law both on the formal and the substantial floor. For this purpose, the paper emphasizes how the public interests aimed by…
