Task-irrelevant threatening faces (e.g., fearful) are difficult to filter from visual working memory (VWM), but the difficulty in filtering non-threatening negative faces (e.g., sad) is not known. Depressive symptoms could also potentially affect the ability to filter different emotional faces. 23 patients with unilateral hearing loss and presence of TEOAE on both ears were examined with regard to the association between contralateral acoustic stimulation and evoked otoacoustic emissions. Contralateral white noise of 40 dB HL, 50 dB HL and 60 dB HL decreases the amplitude of TEOAE both at the ear with and without hearing loss. In comparison with a group of subjects with normal hearing, the decrease in the amplitude of TEOAE was less in the group of patients with hearing loss. Viherala on merkittävä ja kasvava toimiala. Ilmastonmuutos ja lajien monimuotoisuuden suojelu lisäävät entisestään viheralan painoarvoa. Viheralan kehittäminen edellyttää monipuolista tieteellistä tutkimusta ja kykyä soveltaa uutta tietoa luovasti. Tutkimusta tehdään huomattavan paljon mutta sen vaikuttavuudesta tiedämme suhteellisen vähän. Tämä näkyi myös kevään 2023 Viherpäivien teemassa: Viisas, älykäs, vihreä – muuttuuko tieto teoiksi?
