Maģistra darbā aplūkota varbūtību blīvuma funkcijas un neparametriskās regresijas funkcijas novērtēšana ar kodolu gludināšanas un empīriskās ticamības funkcijas metodēm. Darbā tika veikta simulāciju izpēte, kas parāda, ka empīriskās ticamības funkcijas metode labi darbojas blīvuma funkcijas un regresijas funkcijas novērtēšanā un dod labus rezultātus pārklājuma precizitātei. Darba gaitā tika paradītī praktiski lietojumi bioloģisko populāciju skaita un blīvuma novērtēšanā un bioloģisko datu regresijas analīzē. The present thesis introduces several ultrasound-assisted digestion methods developed for the determination of toxic element concentrations in ash samples by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Ultrasound-assisted digestion is a quite new technique used for sample pre-treatment purposes, especially in difficult sample matrixes. Elements determined are As, Ba, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Sb, Sr, V, and Zn. The research described in this disseration covers the crystal form screening of two analogous agrochemical actives, thiophanate-methyl and thiophanate-ethyl, as well as the discovery of seven 4-hydroxybenzoic acid cocrystals of selected agrochemical actives. Polymorphs are crystal forms of a compound that have the same composition, but a different arrangement of molecules. Cocrystals are molecular crystals composed of two or more compounds, and refer mainly to crystals which contain compounds that are solids at standard conditions. Perlman syndrome: Clinical report and nine-year follow-up

We present the clinical and follow-up data of a female infant with Perlman syndrome from birth to the age of 9 years. Main features of Perlman syndrome include polyhydramnios, fetal overgrowth, neonatal macrosomia, macrocephaly, dysmorphic facial features, visceromegaly, nephroblastomatosis, and a predisposition for Wilm's tumor. In our patient, the nephromegaly with nephroblastomatosis was not present at birth or during the neonatal period; it became evident in the first months of postnatal life. Kvantu vaicājumu sarežģītība bezkonteksta gramatikām

Bezkonteksta gramatikas un to ģenerētās valodas ir plaši pētīta tēma datorzinātnē. Tām ir dažādi praktiski pielietojumi, piemēram, XML valodā. Savukārt kvantu skaitļošana, it sevišķi kvantu vaicājumu algoritmi, ir datorzinātnes nozare, kas par spīti popularitātei, ir vēl neizpētīta un neskaidra. Šī darba mērķis ir aplūkot vārda piederības problēmu bezkonteksta valodai no kvantu vaicājumu algoritmu puses. Konkrētāk - darbā tika izvirzīti divi uzdevumi. International audience; Cocrystallization of 7,7′,8,8′-tetracyanoquinodimethane radical anion (TCNQ −•) and 3-methylpyridinium-1,2,3,5dithiadiazolyl radical cation (3-MepyDTDA +•) afforded isostructural acetonitrile (MeCN) or propionitrile (EtCN) solvates containing cofacial π dimers of homologous components. Single-molecule magnet properties of a monometallic dysprosium pentalene complex

The pentalene-ligated dysprosium complex [(η8-Pn†)Dy(Cp*)] (1Dy) (Pn† = [1,4-(iPr3Si)2C8H4]2−) and its magnetically dilute analogue are single-molecule magnets, with energy barriers of 245 cm−1. Abstract We report the synthesis, the single-crystal X-ray crystallographic structures and the magnetic properties of three new isostructural cyanido-bridged networks: [M IV {(μ-CN) 4 Mn II (H 2 O) 2 } 2 ·4H 2 O] n [M IV  = Nb IV ( 1 ), Mo IV ( 2 ), W IV ( 3 )]. For compound 1 , the magnetic properties reveal a ferrimagnetic phase below 50 K. In contrast, compounds 2 and 3 show a paramagnetic behaviour with no magnetic ordering down to 2 K.
