This work covers the optical characterization of III-V semiconductor nanowires and their application for charge transport and for single-photon emission. InAs nanowires have been investigated by Raman scattering and PL spectroscopy. The possibility to grow nanowires with a crystal structure different from its bulk counterpart has aroused a lot of interest in their optical and electronic properties. Here, the optical phonon modes of wurtzite InAs nanowires have been studied by polarized Raman scattering. It is well-documented that changes in the rhythm of life during Ramadan affect sleep schedules (i.e., interruption of night sleep patterns) and are likely to have negative effects on physical and cognitive performances. The aim of the present study was to examine the effect of different naps opportunities’ durations during Ramadan on performance of short-duration repetitive maximal exercise and perception of effort. Pro gradu -tutkielmani lähtökohtana on kirjallisuudentutkimuksen perustavanlaatuisimpia kysymyksiä: mitä on runous ja mikä on kertomus? Kartoitan tutkielmassani kirjallisuudentutkimuksen parissa esitettyjä käsityksiä siitä, mikä tekee runoudesta runoutta ja mistä kertomus muodostuu. Keskiöön nousee varsinkin käsitys lyyrisyydestä tekstin ominaisuutena pikemminkin kuin lajia määrittävänä piirteenä. Painoarvoa saa erityisesti lyyrisen vertailu kerronnalliseen: mitkä ovat lyyrisen ja kerronnallisen erottavia ominaisuuksia ja miten ne toimivat tekstissä suhteessa toisiinsa. Kritiski izvērtēti vēstījuma un metavēstījuma jēdzieni, aplūkotas mīta funkcijas un mīta elementiem piemītošs resakralizācijas potenciāls, sniegts vēsturiskais Svētā Grāla mīta un Romas Katoļu baznīcas vēstījumu attiecību fons. Iezīmētas kriptovēstures romāna kā žanru hibrīda konvencijas. Comparison of different theory models and basis sets in the calculation of 13C NMR chemical shifts of natural products.

The influence of the calculation method in mimicking experimental 13C NMR chemical shifts of 15 low-polarity natural products singularly containing 10–20 carbon atoms was investigated by employing different quantum chemistry approaches and basis sets, both in the preliminary geometry optimizations and in the following single-point 13C GIAO calculations of the NMR chemical shifts. The geometries of the involved species were optimized at the PM3, HF, B3LYP and mPW1PW91 levels whereas the 13C NMR parameters were determined at the HF, B3LYP and mPW1PW91 levels. In this paper we propose a methodology to assess the syntax complexity of a sentence representing it as sequence of parts-of-speech and comparing Recurrent Neural Networks and Support Vector Machine. We have carried out experiments in English language which are compared with previous results obtained for the Italian one.
