Creative reconstructions of poitical imagery in an Instagram-based election campaign: Implications for visual rhetorical literacy

This article reviews literature on visual rhetoric in political campaigning and synthesizes several strands of current research devoted to the rhetorical potential of communicating with visuals in online environments. It uses rhetorical concepts of identification and manoeuvring, as well as the category of topos, to discuss the implications of an abductive analysis of a coded corpus of 1976 Instagram images posted during 2019 election to the European Parliament campaign in Poland. Kopulas ļauj modelēt daudzdimensiju sadalījumus, atdalot marginālos sadalījumus no atkarības struktūras. Bakalaura darbā apskatīts kopulas jēdziens, tās īpašības un atkarības mēri, kas saistīti ar kopulām. Darbā tika apskatītas eliptisko un Arhimēda kopulu saimes un empīriskā kopula. Tika aprakstītas momentu un maksimālās ticamības metodes kopulu parametru novērtēšanai, kā arī apkopota informācija par kopulas izvēles un piemērotības kritērijiem. Praktiskajā daļā empīriskā, Gausa un t kopulas pielietotas riska faktoru šoku lieluma aprēķina problemātikai. Praktiskā daļa ir izstrādāta ar programmas R iebūvētās bibliotēkas: copula palīdzību.

In this paper I review and compare the main sources of information about the ka’ulayawaa festivals among the Wayùu, an Amerindian people inhabiting in the semiarid Guajira peninsula (Northern Colombia and Venezuela). For their peculiar mix of songs, dances, imitative plays and competitive games, inserted into a same festive framework, these festivals are particularly interesting to be studied as expressive metacommentaries (in the sense of Turner) of Wayùu social structures, cultural values and worldview. This paper presents an experiential learning lab focused on building a digital storytelling using both robots with LEGO Mindstorms and virtual worlds with Kodu Game Lab. The experiential laboratory (32 hours) has involved 33 children of secondary schools in a collaborative learning setting in formal (school labs) and informal learning context (external cultural association). In a first phase of the activity children used Lego Mindstorm robotic kits, assembling them and creating a physical environment (pasterboard arenas) where robots were programmed for moving and taking actions. Raman analysis of rock samples containing rare earth elements (REEs) is challenging due to the strong fluorescence, which may mask the weaker Raman signal. In this research, time‐gated (TG) Raman has been applied to the construction of the mineral distribution map from REE‐bearing rock. With TG Raman, material is excited with a short subnanosecond laser pulse, and the Raman signal is collected within a picosecond‐scale time window prior to the formation of a strong fluorescent signal by means of single‐photon avalanche diode array.
