La responsabilidad penal de los partidos políticos

2019

The 'terroridiom' principle between spoken and written discourse

2010

This paper focuses on phraseology used within the domain of politics, both in written and spoken discourse. We concentrate on the lemma terror and on teh recurrent sequences in which it is embedded, reflecting how native speakers, both American and British, tend to use it in preferred environments making routinized blocks of language.

Stoïlow’s theorem revisited

2020

Stoilow's theorem from 1928 states that a continuous, open, and light map between surfaces is a discrete map with a discrete branch set. This result implies that such maps between orientable surfaces are locally modeled by power maps z -> z(k) and admit a holomorphic factorization. The purpose of this expository article is to give a proof of this classical theorem having readers in mind that are interested in continuous, open and discrete maps. (C) 2019 Elsevier GmbH. The accreditation system of Italian medical residency programs: fostering quality and sustainability of the National Health Service

2020

Summary. Background and aim: In June 2017, University and Health Ministries jointly enacted a decree imple-menting a new accreditation system for the Italian post-graduate medical schools (residency programs). We report the innovations introduced through the reform. Methods: Universities were called to submit post-gradu-ate medical school projects to the National Observatory on medical residency programs, the inter-institutional committee responsible for the entire accreditation process, through an interactive web platform. The adherence to minimum standards, requirements and the performances were measured. After this first assessment, universities were asked to provide programs of improvem…

2016

Dimensionality reduction framework for detecting anomalies from network logs

2012

Dynamic web services are vulnerable to multitude of intrusions that could be previously unknown. Server logs contain vast amounts of information about network traffic, and finding attacks from these logs improves the security of the services. In this research features are extracted from HTTP query parameters using 2-grams. We propose a framework that uses dimensionality reduction and clustering to identify anomalous behavior. The framework detects intrusions from log data gathered from a real network service. This approach is adaptive, works on the application layer and reduces the number of log lines that needs to be inspected. Furthermore, the traffic can be visualized. peerReviewed

Interpersonal Distance in the SARS-CoV-2 Crisis

2020

Background Mandatory rules for social distancing to curb the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic require individuals to maintain a critical interpersonal distance above 1.5 m. However, this contradicts our natural preference, which is closer to 1 m for non-intimate encounters, for example, when asking a stranger for directions. Objective This review addresses how humans typically regulate interpersonal distances, in order to highlight the challenges of enforcing atypically large interpersonal distances. Method To understand the challenges posed by social distancing requirements, we integrate relevant contributions from visual perception, social perception, and human factors. Results To date, research on pr…

e-Health and the Internet of Things. Definitions, applications, regulation, actors. Roadmap to a use cases research.

2015

This reports deals with the electronic health (e-Health) as a prism to study the Internet of Things. After having provided the necessary definitions and having described applications, regulators, regulations and actors both in the UK, in the US and in the EU, the author sets the basis for a use cases research regarding the e-prescribing.
