Ileus Following Spontaneous Jejunum Intramural Hematoma: Case Report and Review of the Literature

Anticoagulant therapy may cause the onset of a spontaneous intramural hematoma of the small bowel, in the jejunum, ileum or duodenum. A 53-year-old woman on therapy with heparin for previous pulmonary embolism was admitted for abdominal pain and vomit. Computed tomography scan visualized an intramural hematoma of the jejunum causing subtotal obstruction of the intestinal lumen. The patient underwent resection of a part of the jejunum, securing intestinal continuity by a mechanical side-to-side anastomosis. Il fondo Visite Vescovili dell’archivio storico diocesano di Mazara del Vallo conserva i resoconti delle ispezioni dei vescovi nelle città della diocesi, raccolti in volumi ordinati per luogo e cronologia, a partire dalla fine del Cinquecento. Le relazioni delle visite dei vescovi Bartolomeo Castelli (1695-1730) e Girolamo Palermo (1759-1765) aggiungono alle solite note contabili informazioni di carattere storico sulla fondazione delle congregazioni e sulla costruzione di chiese e conventi, divenendo quindi una buona fonte documentaria per la storiografia; inoltre, nel caso della città di Trapani, i due volumi contengono anche le rappresentazioni planimetriche di molti degli edifici visitat…

Aim Primary and secondary genetic clines in post-glacial colonized regions have different implications for biogeographic distributions and the origin of species. Primary clines arise in situ after colonization as adaptive responses to environmental gradients, while secondary clines are caused by contact between vicariant lineages. When a colloidal suspension droplet evaporates from a solid surface, it leaves a characteristic deposit in the contact region. These deposits are common and important for many applications in printing, coating, or washing. By the use of superamphiphobic surfaces as a substrate, the contact area can be reduced so that evaporation is almost radially symmetric. While drying, the droplets maintain a nearly perfect spherical shape. Here, we exploit this phenomenon to fabricate supraparticles from bidisperse colloidal aqueous suspensions. The refurbishment of public residential districts represents a current and complex problem. The Cappuccinelli Social Housing (SH) district in Trapani, designed in the late 1950s by Michele Valori and built during the 1960s, is emblematic of the architectural quality and technological innovation of the time it was designed, but at the same time represents the physical and social decay that occurred just after its construction. The neighborhood was examined through a combination of inspections and documentary research.
